I've driven few bikes over the years, electric bikes really are not that much different in terms of fun. Handling is a little different because of the weight of the battery and where it is placed, but that is about it. ICE is coming to end, in the near future they be whole generation who have never experience ICE and would become electric enthusiast where they gush over amount of volts.

One thing though, we should banned the cruise liner. I just thought  I'd throw that out randomly.

At that point might as well get into remote control cars, "oh boy, hes got the 48V one"...

I'll be over here yelling at clouds.
Lighten up Francis.....

but even the cleanest ICE bike is dirtier than any ICE car, because standards aren't the same.

Is that really true?

All motorcycles sold now are Euro 5 compliant, and cars are Euro 6d compliant. I'm having trouble comparing the standards, but from what I've read they are fairly close.

fob had me google up exact plate costs - it gets even better:

125 cc or less: $298

126 to 400 cc: $497.71

401cc and more, plus 3-wheel bikes: $691.28

high-risk bikes: $2,022.01

And these are the high risk bikes: https://saaq.gouv.qc.ca/fileadmin/documents/publications/liste-motos-risque-eleve.pdf

edit - that list goes down to 1985  ::) SAAQ - our "DOT" - is filled with road-safety types, haters of all private vehicles. It shows.

Ohhh, you were talking about insurance. I know for my bike its ~$350/year and a ~$50 registration fee. When I enquired about the KLR650, that would have been ~$650/year for insurance. I have no idea what the crotch rocketeers are paying but it seems here your driving record counts way more than the CCs of the bike.

$2,000 is just the plate/registration on your sportbike. For one year. You still need to buy private insurance for material / liability.

Jesus. My TW200 is about 150.00/yr, plates and insurance (which is why it sits unused in a corner of my garage, but I digress)

I thought you were resurrecting the TW and running it?

Exactly what I thought!

Keep thinking it's a cheap way to get my motorcycle fix, but other stuff keeps coming up. Have not skateboarded this year either yet

I'm in. Should we just crash the Grom Gaggle rides?

Nevermind, they look young. I'm old and law abiding, generally.

Yeah...I'm out. Doing wheelies down White and running from cops on bike paths doesn't really sound like my ideal Friday night lol

Not surprising. They just fired their coal fired electricity plants back up.  Realized electricity needs to come from somewhere. Morons... ;D
