They will be in the shop next week.....must resist.

OR go to the big bike sale in October and buy last year's for $500-1000 less.

I have last years model  :P I will wait a year for this one, noting wrong with what I have now  :)

Why wait as there will be nothing wrong with your bike next year either  :stick:

Unless you want the disc brakes (which I fully understand) just get this one instead...Defy Advanced 0

That looks fast!  Worthy or not I'd like to ride it.

That sucks. The big bike blowout is this Saturday at the CNE grounds. I think I might be going so we could meet up there. Deals, deals and more deals can be found.

Ya, that is it. The March sale is mostly new (to the market) stuff, not the same level of deals you get at this one with the shops trying to blow out their current inventory.

There are some really tempting price reductions now, but I'll resist it for another year.

I saw one of these at a shop and I had to drag myself away from it. Would make a great replacement for my commuter bike.

Wow, look at those seat and head tube angles, looks like a comfy ride. It also looks very short and tall - a Belgian CX geometry? Cool bike, though.

YES!

i picked up a bike one year.... amazing price.

However........... be warned and maybe you know...   not buying from the local shop doesn't give you quite the same support.     I picked up a Specialized from a GTA dealer.   My local dealer wasn't all that pleased.
No big deal until I required warranty work.   They did it but not with the usual red carpet treatment I'd get.

The new Defy I originally ordered is in and the shop called to make sure I really really really did not want it because of the late delivery..... Fack it, I pick it up tomorrow.

This is great news. Can't wait to check it out.

Now you can skip the bike show unless you are also looking to pick up a CX or clothes on sale.

In a much much lower price (and skill!) range than most of you, but I went in to get a few things fixed on my existing bike, and tried a Norco Storm 9.2.... quite tempted.

DO IT!

As to price and skill....who cares as there is always somebody better. Get out there and ride and enjoy it. Live is short.

You're exactly right about the price/skill point, and that's exactly the attitude I take... while I'm right now only barely a 20km/h average rider on a longer trip, no way to improve that without riding more and enjoying it.

When I went in today, the bike mechanic (not salesguy) told me that I'm going to perpetually have problems with my rear wheel if I keep riding the trails I do - it turns out he saw me barelling down the big park last week. He gave me very reasonable points, and in fact told me not to go higher in price range as I'll derive very little benefit from it.

... all to say I'll make my decision by Saturday
