In most cases I agree, but in stop and go traffic that doesn't go above 30 km/h when it's +35 out, it sure is a nice option to have.

Going 50, 55+ km/h on a bicycle with nothing but cycling clothes and a dinky little helmet makes me ponder my life choices sometimes.

2003 bmw 1150RT.  Very good shape.  Guy's a mechanic and took it to new Mexico to Alaska last year. High mileage thought 140k but for 3k it is what it is.

as long as it is well taken care of, i'm sure it's fine...and like you said, it's $3k, so it's not like you're dropping $50k or anything like that.

and you got the RT, perfect for what you were looking for...comes with windshield and bags...those bikes can eat miles like crazy.

got insurance for $213/year....

that's a great price...almost unusually low.

Insurance was dirt cheap on the 2 BMW bikes I owned. Low accident rate on these tourers and GS's I guess.

Yeah i had 2 prices close together. Probably low accident rates base on mileage driven.  Its a high CC engine though.  I guess teenagers dont buy touring bikes with luggage.

So in case of damage/tree falling/theft on it etc they top you at $3k? Reasonable rate.
