The Cervelo is $3999 - I looked up Snowy's - $3699 (not with the extra spendy Zipp wheels shown, though). Both full carbon frames with Ultegra mechanical.
And if you hit the fall bike sale you should be able to pick up that Cervelo (S3 w/Ultegra) for $2500-3000 sans the carbon wheels of course.
I'm still a BMC fan boy so make mine the SLR01 and I only need Ultegra Di2. Probably around $7K before finding any sales.
As it happens I took a quick spin on the S3 today. Not for me after all. Very aggressive riding position and a very firm ride. Not jarringly firm, but enough vibrations and sharp impact shocks traveling up from the road that I think I would find it tiresome on a long ride. And long rides are the goal for me. I think I will stick to the "Endurance" side of the road bike field going forward. Now the Pinarello Rokh that I rode right after was very sweet - felt like a magic carpet in comparison, yet still fairly quick and nimble.
One thing is for sure - by the time the fall sale rolls around I will have a pretty reliable short list of purchase options. Assuming I can wait that long, of course.
Still working on improving the engine. Another 30k loop at 5:00 am this morning. And my effort to beat the "everyone falls" jynx lasted less than a week.
My own fault (like it could be anyone else's) - tried to get too cute and ride up the sidewalk to press the walk signal without unclipping. Timed it perfectly - stopped with my hand resting right on top of the signal casing. Then my hand slipped, and timberrrr!
