Personally I go for the Elantra sport if on a budget, or step up to a base WRX if I was going to spend that kind of cash. The SI pricing makes the base WRX look like a steal of a deal.Maybe a test drive would change my mind...Nice. So for $3500 more you get more power, a limited slip differential, and magnetic suspension (you have to try this to believe how amazing this tech is). Better shifter, steering, and build fit and finish. Higher resale value. You would have to be daft not to go for this over the Hyundai.

Nothing says "fast" as much as the second spoiler. I don't hate it, only wonder if it may be a love child of Aztec and Crosstour.

I see that Honda has this listed on their website and you can do a build and price on it. I think at $28,500 it offers a fair amount of value. Sure you can get the Elantra Sport for less and with some added features but the Civic will make up the difference when it comes trade in time. And sure you can get a GTI or WRX for around $2,000 more but those will be base models and will be missing some features the Civic Si has as standard. If all you car about is fun to drive and saving money your best bet will almost always be a Fiesta ST (when Ford has their employee pricing deal on in the summer months). But that's a MUCH smaller vehicle than a 4 door Civic Si.

I'm pleasantly surprised that they came in comfortably under $30K.Though it's funny how you dismiss the added features and lower price of the Elantra Sport, then immediately point out that the Civic will cost less and have more features than a GTI.

Black diminishes the contrast with all that craptastic shiny black plastic - but doesn't get rid of it.
Agree. I was thinking sedan in Si trim. I really like the idea of a Honda Civic Si and for ~$33k all in (including taxes) seems like a solid enough fun daily driver.

I'm just glad that the moderately priced manual transmission sporty sedan is not yet an extinct species.
