RRocket's Detailing Kit
« on: June 07, 2019, 04:26:17 pm »
I'm upgrading and thought I'd offer this up. This kit is a great entry "go to" for people looking for pro results at home.

-Porter Cable 7424
-5" Velcro backing pad
-6" Lake Country CCS Yellow Coarse/Heavy cut pad
-5.5" and 4" Lake Country CCS orange light cut (my favorite)
-6" Lake Country CCS gray/black finishing pad
-6" Wool pad
-5.5" microfiber and terry bonnets
-3.5" Cyclo super soft interior brush (works amazing for cleaning seats and upholstery)
-Autogeek Carry/Storage case (hold all you stuff, plus side pockets for your waxes and polishes)
-Poor Boys Clay I had kicking around. Used..but still good.

Asking $125 + shipping.

I'm not sure yet! Got a couple of choices...

Going to a 15mm long throw.

Yea, I think price is fair

Thanks but the thing isn't s I already have 2 drills and 2 grinder(variable speed)... Inwas thinking to get attachments for them.
Is there a big difference between a regular grinder and the one is you picture?

A big difference. Do not use a normal grinder for polishing!  For starters a normal grinder can burn and damage the paint...especially if you're new to polishing. How? Because unlike a polisher it isn't orbital...it just spins. A polisher goes round but it also has a "throw" which makes it orbit. This allows more surface to be polished...which helps keep it cool and prevents a single area from being overworked and damaged. As a fail safe, an orbital polisher also will stop if you put too much pressure on it...something a grinder is less likely to do.

An orbital like this a pretty much fool proof. A regular grinder is the opposite.

Whatever you do....don't use your grinder on your paint!

I'd recommend a cheap orbital any day over using a grinder. You're just asking for trouble.
