I was actually shocked to hear that parents haul their kids around all weekend to sports tournaments and such.  One of my co-workers just the other day said she was ok with her kid's team losing on Sunday morning because otherwise it would have made for a long Sunday.  And they had just spent all of Saturday at the rink too!

Yeah, everyone I know has kids in every sort of activity/sport under the sun. They log more miles than your average hot shot courier on the weekends.

A good buddy of mine took his son to a hockey tournament about 90 minutes away Friday after school, came back that night, drove back up Saturday morning, then spent the night there and came home on Sunday. No thank you.

Congrats!  From all us D.I.N.K.'s (double income no kids) thank you for bringing someone into this world that will someday take care of us in our old age.   :rofl2:

Also thanks from this S.I.N.K.   ;D

And CONGRATUALTIONS!!!  That's gonna be one gorgeous child, based on Mom & Dad's looks.

Cheers!

Wow Zach, just seeing this now!  A HUGE congrats to you and the wife, fantastic news.  I'm sure I've said before on here, but there is absolutely no better experience in life than being a Dad.

And congrats from me as well!  Something tells me you will have a blast being a dad; you have a lot of knowledge to share... once the kid's done pooping its pants, that is.   ;D

The kid's first word is gonna either be "MGB" (OK, technically not a word) or "Trans Am."

Congrats Firm, exciting times ahead for sure!  Judging by your character on this forum you’ll make a great father.

He mentioned a possible 2nd car that has anchors.  Besides kids are in those things for at least 5 year.  And they are going to have more than one!  ;D

Congrats Firm (and spouse)! Welcome to parenthood (soon).

All ya'all complaining about having a kid in hockey...it's a blast!  I never played sports either, but we spent quite a few years and a lot of gas money hauling just one kid around for hockey.  I wouldn't have given it up for anything.  Met some super nice people...winter went by a lot faster in anticipation of the next game...it's not so bad.  Some days I wish we still had a reason to go to the rink.  OTOH...he quit playing last year (so 2 seasons now) and I don't miss spending all that money on gas now either!  ;D

...if he's going to sell one car...can I start the bidding at $2500 on the '85 T/A?  ;D   Seems fair for a 33 yr old car.  Right?  ;D  I mean I have to fly in and drive home, too.

Of course, I already knew this a while ago, but posting here for official records.

Also, as the brownest uncle your kid will ever have, I'm stoked!  ;D ;D ;D
