Having used it a few days now, I think that an even greater benefit than exact fit over the cheap foil jobs is the vastly improved reflective properties.  Both of us noticed that, with our cars parked at the GO Station all day in the interior felt cooler (okay, less insanely hot) than before.
Next time go to Home Depot and buy a roll of Reflectix and cut several custom fit ones yourself. Works very, very well.

. Car detailing is really time-intensive...

It sure is! But I try to keep it fun. Box of beer and half a dozen cigars and I'm set for the day!

On the weekend:

-Replaced rear HVAC control computer and blend door actuator in the 'Slade. > Rear HVCA now fully functional again...Gotta keep the empty seats cool ;)

-Replaced the upper rad hose on the T/A. When I did the rad a couple weeks ago the hose I ordered was wrong(wrong diameter at the thermostat housing end), so I reused the original. New replacement finally came in, in the correct size, so I swapped it over. Easy job.

-Put a new MotoMaster Eliminator Ultra AGM battery in the SLK. The old one was 6 years old and still working fine, but I scored a freebie, so why not. At least this new one is a sealed AGM design, so it shouldn't leak or corrode, and apparently the self discharge rate is lower on an AGM unit - handy for my car that does a lot of sitting.

-Also had a new key shell for the SLK sitting around, so I finally got the courage to take one of my beaten up original keys apart and transfer everything over. Had to transfer the immobilizer chip, circuit board and key blade. Setting the spring load on the key blade was a bit of a pain, but I managed to get it back together and working properly without breaking anything. It's really nice to have a fresh looking key again :)

-Did little bit of detailing too. Namely the leather on the SLK with some Mequires treatment, and a quick wash for the Escalade.

Great job(s)!  ;)  With all the update about the 'Slade and the T/A I forgot you even had the SLK!

lol, yeah...me too. Thanks to my crappy parking situation it get relegated to the sitting on the lift most of the time. Which means a 20-30 minute car jocky to get it out, and a repeat to put it back. So I need a pretty good reason to bother taking it down.
We did take it for a nice drive on Sunday night to Burlington Waterfront. Hadn't been there in a couple years, and the city of Burlington has done a great job building a great multiuse space.

I'd like to have that problem with having a garage and multiple vehicles to choose from.

Washed and vacuumed a very dirty Crosstrek and also did the MX-5 while I had all the gear in the garage..

Washed both bike and car. Been raining lots lately, but friend visiting tomorrow and the sun is peeking a bit more thru the clouds now.

Worked on the 951 today for a bit, put on a Lindsey Racing Boost enhancer which essentially keeps the wastegate from opening right away & spools up the turbo a bit earlier. There's less lag with it, that's for sure. Then I did a 951MAX chip install, which consists of taking the DME out of the car, opening it up & changing out the chip. Took it all apart to find out that there was a custom chip in there already, not sure if it was a custom program or what, but it's not stock. Swapped it out anyways & then changed the fuel pressure regulator to a 3bar to get more flow with the new chip programming. Car pulls quite a bit stronger & holds boost a bit longer as well. Will have to see how it behaves on the track in a couple weeks. Didn't take any pics, cause it's nothing exciting, but I was VERY happy that nothing broke or fell apart on me, which seems to happen anytime I work on this 30yrd old car.

Took it in for its annual service.  They discovered that the front brakes were worn and replaced them under Volvo's 5-year maintence plan.  Much better than the fall 2014 fiacso with the rear brakes.

Took the CX9 in today to get the front windows tinted to match the factory tint in the back windows.  On the inside the front is slight darker, but it's a perfect match from the outside.

The front looks darker from the outside to my eyes. You can see the car behind more clearly through the rear windows.

Yesterday went to drive the truck after it had been sitting for a few days. Nothing happenedc, no lights, no chimes, nothing .  Apparently I left the ignition on. Whoops.  Thew my battery charger on it and let it sit for the night.

Today I dropped it off so they could look at / repair the rear axle seal.  It had leaked a bunch of fluid all over the right wheel and brakes.  Hopefully this one isn't too $$$$.

It's an '01 with almost 300,000 and runs perfectly.  Though, it does make me wonder what's next.
