$600 for new tires and wheels is still pretty fair, IMO.

Very fair.  You nooze, you lose.

If a kijiji caller offered me $450. for those I'd ban them from any sale.  :rofl2:

For $350 I'm tempted to buy the hankooks and wheels :P... not even kidding, I could probably wear the tires and sell the rims for more.
Toronto rims look way better IMO. Though the Dovers have grown on me.

Are your OEM alloys 15 inch? interesting.

I'm pretty sure the non AWD trendlines still come with 15" wheels. Except for 2016, they had 16s.

Nope, all Trendlines have 16s.

My bad, it's just the regular Golfs that have the 15" wheels.

So I said no to the guy in #1, made arrangements with #2 and then the guy flaked out and deleted the ad.  Bummer.

But, I'm going to look at these tonight: https://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details.html?adId=1342536335

If you don't buy them I might be interested... I wonder how they'd look black.

17 inch tires will cost more to replace after though

Picked them up. One isn't cosmetically perfect but the rest are.

17s are $30 more per tire so not a deal breaker.

I think they'd look great in gunmetal.

Nice score. Going to paint them? Or Plasti Dip? Go to this place if so: https://dipit.ca/kits-bundles/plasti-dipr-aerosol-wheel-kit-11oz-regular-colors.html. Might be heading there in the coming weeks so if it is of interest do let me know.

Your post inspired me to look on Kijiji again... might've found a few interesting options (including identical rims to the ones I just bought)

Not sure what I will do.  I doubt I will pay for them to be painted, seems like it would double the cost.  And I have no experience with Plastidip so I am not sure what the final quality is like.

When we meet up you can look at my wheels. I messed up one of them but overall I'm pretty happy with the result. My issues might've been related to the cold weather too

And I suppose if I don't like it it's only $50 down the drain.

Easily removed if you don't like it with plasti dip. Do it!

I want to re-finish the steelies for both cars, as they're starting to show a dab of rust.  I'd use a wire brush attachment on a drill to get rid of the rust and OEM paint, and then I want to plasti-dip them (hoping that it'd hold up well to winter).

I'm not sure that's true though.  I suspect that plasti-dip would have to be reapplied every season or two.

For steel wheels I'd use primer and spray paint than plasti dip.

Plasti dip has two advantages: Removable, and rubber texture.

That's what I want - the texture.

...but yeah, I'll probably never actually paint the wheels unless I have no house or car projects, which seems like it'll never happen.

The car in winter vs summer modes. I'm pretty happy with the new wheels.
