Preventing rust

Congratulations ! You just purchased a brand new vehicle and the
seller inevitably will offer you "electronic rust proofing". Dont get
caught in this trap. Know that this expensive rustproofing will not
be effective. On the other hand oil spraying has been around
for years and has proven to work. Stick with a proven process.

Dealing with rust

Many drivers think of rust as nothing more than cosmetic issue, it
can actually become a significant safety problem if its not
properly taken care of. Once rust penetrates the surface of your
car and begins to attack your vehicle's frame, it will start to cause
serious damage.
If you’ve left things too long and you’re dealing with a larger
patch of corrosion or even some perforation, nothing you can do
in your driveway is going to look correct, no matter how easy
those YouTube videos make it seem. It’s at this point you’ll have
to consider heading to a body shop for an assessment and
estimate.
This is when you’ll have to take a long hard look at how much a
shining, rust-free ride means to you. By the time corrosion shows
its ugly red head, the paint on non-rusted areas will have faded
several shades lighter. This means your shop will recommend a
complete repaint.
