others have said so too. It is not like the 4.2 is a bad engine, 420hp and a high redline and all...but maybe it is the lack of low end torque that really hurts the R8 4.2 in drag races? That owner should look into a Stillen supercharger...

Now saying that, I dragged a 4.2 in my Saab...and lost after about 50 feet, and only then because he bogged the start ;)

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

you can take out the front axle to make the 4.2 RWD, can't you?   would that make it faster?
(you can also do this for 5.2, but regardless)

it may allow all the power to rear and at the same time, make the car lighter by, what.. 80 lbs or so?

Driving thrills makes my wallet lighter.. and therefore makes me faster because i'm shedding weight... :D

The R8 is one of those cars thats never done anything for me looks wise, dont know why, 0 attraction. I know the mechanicals and performance are awesome but I couldnt stand looking at it. For $200k, used Lambo, Ferrari, 911 Turbo S or a new GT-R thanks.
Lighten up Francis.....

I don't think that off colored part behind the cockpit helps.  It's not too bad when it's body colored.  Not sure who thought that one up!  ::)
