One of the guys in my cycling group paid a visit to our local GM dealership looking to test drive a Bolt.
The salesman said they didn't have a Bolt in stock and had no idea when they were getting one.

He then asked the salesman how long it would take for an ordered car to arrive.
The salesman said he didn't have a clue.

Now he finds out that GM is overstocked in the US and cutting back on production.  :P

Hey GM, slap some English/French stickers on some of that overstock, change the imperial stuff to metric and ship them to Canada.

A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kickboxing.

And you can read on Canadian forum, the estimated waiting time is months, some don't even give any estimate for 2018MY...

We knew about the Opel Ampera-e version of the Chevrolet Bolt EV.

Now with the PSA group deal, is a Citroën Bolt EV (kind of) version coming next? Seen picture on https://twitter.com/AWJayRamey/status/876231110472024064
Gone but not forgotten in chronological order: 2019 Volt, 2013 Volt, 2014 Spark EV, 2012 Volt and many others before...

The dealer we visited said 9 months to get one, but they 'might' be getting a 2018 in the next few weeks. I think every manufacture has more or less botched their releases. Can't get an eGolf, Ionic, or Bolt anywhere in Ontario. The dealers I called that do have them aren't selling them, they're demos only for ordering purposes.

As much as people complain about the Model 3 launch, at least Telsa is transparent with their wait times. The other manufacturers imply you can get their EVs now.
2019 Mazda 3 GS-L, 2013 Ram 1500 and an EV that cost 5 times what my Mazda3 costs but is louder with a crappier interior.

Am I the only one who thinks this has more to do with Big Oil back room dealing than anything else?

I mean what better way is there to kill the electric car than show the public "doesn't want" it due to massive inventories and then fail to sell those same cars in regions where they would actually jump off dealer lots?

I spoke with my preferred Chevy dealer  ;D lately.

Don't know if more Bolt EV are scheduled to be produce at the Orion plant with the change to the production chain this summer and/or more allocation available to Canada but it seem they have more Bolt EV coming, so they expected to shorter their waiting list ...

Toyota has sold what a few hundred 86's?  Seems like that chart may be skewed by small data sets.

BRZ is also themost reliable for Subie. And I imagine they sell a lot more of these coupes % wise in warmer places of the US. Maybe it's the bullet proof stick shift is what skewing their reliability  :)

Just saying, lead time is improving these days for those who placed in build-to-order this fall in factory, there are even few in stock now, at least in Québec ..

45 grand AFTER Ontario rebates. 53k + tax before...  :o

I have a full grain leather, heated and cooled seat with a 4 way power lumbar support and the car did not cost either of those numbers. Being an early adopter is costly, it seems  :-\

Yeah, 60kWh of traction battery are still costly to manufacture to date, the equipment is only to help pass the pill, imho that is not where the money is.
ON 14K rebate is better than QC 8K and BC 5K, even wider compare to anywhere else in Canada...  https://emc-mec.ca/ev-101/ev-incentives/

Yes, costly upfront but the cost of operation would help smooth it out on the long run...

2014 Spark EV: after 20months (2 winters) 40,000 km my average lifetime was 15kWh/100km and this, without being cheap either on performance or cabin heating
EPA rated 28kWh/100mi => converted: 17.4kWh/100km

https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/Find.do?action=sbs&id=38187&id=33640&id=38431&id=39769

2017 Bolt EV has 3x traction battery (60kWh) the Spark EV had but same EPA rated 28kWh/100mi => converted: 17.4kWh/100km
2017 Tesla M3 long range (85kWh?) is now EPA rated rated 27kWh/100mi => converted: 16.8kWh/100km
2017 Hyundai Ioniq Electric (28kWh) is rated EPA rated 25kWh/100mi => converted: 15.5kWh/100km

You probably get a new car of the same size for low 20's gs , you can buy a lot of gas for $28,000
