2014 CX5 - interior lighting question
« on: December 03, 2017, 01:27:38 pm »
Little over two months ago, an unfortunate encounter with a minivan forced Mrs EH to upgrade from the 2010 Forester to a 2014 Mazda CX5.
She is very happy with the new ride, but there is a minor question: there are no lights around the shifter, the PRND signs do not light up at night.
Is this how it's supposed to be or do I have a burnt out bulb?
It is not a real problem since the gear is displayed on the dash and I have no intention of taking the center console apart for a bulb.
Just something bugging me, and I hope other Mazda owners can provide an answer.
Thanks to all.

Not even when you turn on the head lights?  :P
(not necessarily trying to be funny, just eliminating one often observed possibility)
Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach the man to fish and he wakes you up at 5 in the morning.

I don't know about your 2014, but here's a 2016:

It's a different system, so I'm not sure if there's an option for changing lighting inside in the HMI submenus, but maybe look there?

Driving without lights at night works better for black cars, my Mazda is white :P
