Who'd you rather...small Luxury SUV
« on: March 13, 2021, 10:26:06 am »
2021 Buick Envision?

Or 2020 Infiniti QX50?

2020 Lincoln Corsair?  Strangely no huge discounts like the Infiniti. (I'd rather have the Infiniti) Hard to believe these things can be almost $70g before taxes!!  For a high end Escape...yikers.  :o

For shits'n'giggles...for $3300 more (than the QX50) you can step into one of their Big Boy SUVs.  Though it almost looks too old man...  Get what is probably a lot more "car" though for that $3300.  25% off on an Inifiniti too...brand new with whacks of depreciation taken care of right off the bat.
2020 Infiniti QX60 ProACTIVE 25% Off MSRP
If only money wasn't an object...and I'm not going anywhere anyway.

But it's a fun exercise...exorcise? Yeah, maybe both.

Would rather Vman's wagon  ;D
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Really good deal on the QX60.  Among these 4 choices, that's where I'd go.  Though I'm not sure I'd prefer it straight up against a Telluride.
Wokeism is nothing more than the recognition and opposition of bigotry in all its forms.  Bigots are predictably triggered.

What an odd group of luxury SUVs, take the 3 least appealing "luxury" SUVs and see which one people would buy.  If I had a gun to my head and had to pick one of those 3...can't believe I am going to say it...I think I would get the Buick.

Thankfully there is at least a dozen other "luxury" SUVs that I would pick before the Buick would get my money.

Relatively little separates those options in terms of styling.  On that score alone, I like the Buick.  And it appreciates.

:rofl2: I forgot about the appreciation - Buick FTW!  ;D

So add to the list!  More who'd you rathers...  ;D

So what makes these three the least appealing?  I'm not sure what Lexus offers in that genre, but fack they're so damned ugly I couldn't put one in here for fun.  EMmmm...no FGC came to mind...because FGC.  I'd bet money the Buick would be less troublesome than any of those.  It's weak-sauce 228 turbo 4 would be the least stressed too, no?  Should last forever...assuming that just because it's built in China doesn't mean it's made from lead and melamine.  You would think GM would still set the standards by which it's built, not some Chinese mfg of children's toys or baby formula. (it's a hard thought)  Imagine if you put some Hercules tires on the Bu?  Facking gold!!

From the side I like the QX50 best (it's the wheels) but the Buick looks pretty damn good too.
I like the way it looks in this picture...it's not over done for the sake of overdoing :hurl: it.

The Lincoln looks kinda plain. Might look better in person.

Not much separates any of the 245 contenders. So pick the one that you like the most in terms of looks, you have to look at it every day.

Gun to head...I would pick a F-Pace because it is the prettiest of the ugly blobs.

I reviewed both Infinitis - the QX60 is as beige as it gets, eminently forgettable.

The QX50 is fun to drive and well-packaged, but that clever and unique engine design looks like a grenade with a loose pin bobbing around in a backpack.

Did not drive the Corsair, but the MKC felt like a heavier Escape with a better sound system.

That Buick looks hot (am I getting old?). Seriously, the latest Enclave lives up to its price point, shames the QX60 to rental fleets. And the XT4 is damn good, so this should be interesting, espcially if it appreciates.

RDX is the best fit for the gang here.

If I was forced to get one, maybe the Mazda, Jag or the Genesis GV70?

Would rather Vman's AMG though, by a long way.

If the QX60 handles anything like the Pathfinder, stay away from that. Hopefully the new 2022s are improved.

The QX60 maybe uninspiring to automotive enthusiasts who normally find themselves in sporty coups and sedans but its a rock solid purchase as far as were concerned fir a family CUV/SUV.
We just went over four years of ownership with it now and it’s been a flawless experience so far.
The two vehicles in the cross hairs for ya four years ago were the QX60 and the MDX. We looked at and drove everything else comparable at that time and the Infiniti was the value leader over the MDX. Acura Nickel and dimes you with upgrades and options and then there’s the timing belt replacement cost to deal with once you get over 100,000 km with it.
We have just over 70,000 kn on the QX60 now and just got back from a trip to Quebec City were again it proved to be a quiet and comfortable hauler.
No complaints.

Their own Nissan Rogue drove fine through the mountains if a bit uninspired and Corolla was decent as well. I’ve never had a vehicle bottom out a rear shock when accelerating while turning moderately before like the Pathfinder did. It wasn’t just uninspired, it was dangerous. Probably not an issue if you’re not in the mountains though, or take turns at the recommended speed.
