Crossover station wagon maybe? Seems to me you lift a vehicle it's still that vehicle.

Never heard of anyone saying a lifted pickup isn't a pickup any more

On my registration my LR4 is referred to as a wagon...

On a more serious note.  I tried the wagon route raising kids (3). In the end they just weren't as practical as a SUV for a number of reasons. The low entry height was a PITA while the kids were in buckets and seats until they could scamper in themselves. Even loading cargo was a step down rather than straight across (I am taller though). The wagons were supperior in one aspect and that was I could still pull in the garage with the ski box attached.

How many of you used wagons in your kid raising years? I had a couple and they were manuals too. In the end the LR3 and LR4 were better fits for us (and still are). The wife may look at a mid wagon as the nest is close to empty but she also has a wandering eye for a Land Cruiser or Lexus GX.

Superseded by a LR4 which is still looking good 14 years on (12 in the pic I think)

and I guess we added a XC60 which is sort of a wagon in my mind. Doesn't handle or brake  as well as the the V70R but ride is much better and it is faster..

When the kids were young we had a manual Mazda5. It was perfect for when the kids were in car seats and it had enough room to carry everything. As a bonus we could slide the skis in between the captains chairs so we never needed a roof box.

We run roof boxes on both cars all winter and it's so so much easier on the Golf vs the Highlander.

It's not just the ride height. It's a lot taller in profile than a conventional wagon.

I know I'm splitting hairs, but I'll defend it's not a wagon to the death!

The XC60 is pretty low for a CUV. Compared to the LR4 it seems about 1m lower lol.  The XC60 will fit in the garage with a ski box although it is rarely run.

So what profile height are we using as a definition?

I think relative different compared to the sedan version is what counts, and the Outback is 7" taller than the Legacy.

Is this a wagon? It's been jacked 1.5" Might make it passable in the winter.

Yeah, that's a wagon. Wagon body with a slight lift... The VW Alltrack is also a wagon.

When the kids were young we had a manual Mazda5.

That was a seriously under-appreciated vehicle.

Why? You certainly aren't hoon driving with the family on vacation. Anything more than 30 km/h over the limit  can get your car seized and a court date in BC. To go to the track?  Wouldn't you be better off with a Honda Pilot and a track car?
