LOL, it would need to be a swap of the Si for this AND a Subaru BRZ.  Believe me, I've thought about this already.  Not completely off the table, but strangely it would depend more on the impression I get from the BRZ.

So about 10% more than a CTR which seems reasonable, but I can't see myself choosing this over a Golf R.

The thing is, does the Integra Type S compete with the Golf R, or does it compete with the Audi S3?  I guess it depends on how you define it.  If in your mind the CTR & the Integra Type S both compete with the Golf R, then yes I could see why you might pick the Golf R, but if you are comparing it to the premium hot hatches/compact performance vehicles (BMW M240, Merc A/B class AMG, Audi S3) you might have a different outlook on value.

I never use the US price to calculate Canadian prices, we almost always get it cheaper and sometimes substantially so.

Except for Muskware, but always fun to compare notes. Canadian market Si is making a lot of jealous people south of us.

All of those other options are auto only and the Type S is manual only, so to me that makes the Golf R its closest competitor.

I get your logic, but you could also say that all of those (including the Golf R) are AWD and the Type S (and CTR) are FWD only, so they don't compete.  Me personally, I feel as though this current generation Golf R is a step back in quality and usability compared to the previous generation, where as the CTR/Type S is an improvement.  If it was going to be my one car, I would likely choose the Type S over all of those listed.  Better manual, luxury brand, bigger/more spacious, and more user friendly interior.  But that's just me, some will value the price difference between the Golf R and the others along with the AWD.

So much overlap today with car options that it may be hard to define.  I think this pricing is good compared to the Type R and to what the US is paying.

Until weird dealer mark ups - $5K in useless options added.

I guess the question is about needs.  Do you need AWD?  Do you need an auto?  Do you need more room?

In the dry, the Type R cooks all comers but if you want some security in snow, then maybe an AWD ride would be best.  Or maybe a winter beater is even better.

But I do think that an M240 and S3 are quite a bit more cash loaded up so there is the obvious fiscal issue as well.

In summary, choice is good and I think we are all happy that these options exist.  Also, I keep forgetting about the Corolla GR existing.

Yup, M240 with packages is gonna be north of $80k.

I kinda suspect that the people interested in this aren't gonna be doing a lot of cross shopping anyways. It's somewhat of a unique offering in the market.
