I have never had a car that had that feature either. More important than a damn heated steering wheel if you ask me. I think it should be standard on all cars. But like I said, I have seen it in a few Fords. It's not like I drive press vehicles to compare what manufacturers offer this...

Quote from: No-san on February 22, 2018, 09:06:24 amPersonally, I wouldn't go with a roof rack unless you have actual plans on using it. We've never once used the rack on our Fozzie (no crossbars, never needed them), and IIRC, we strapped a couch to the roof of the RX once in its 11 years with us. Don't forget how much cargo space you now have with your ride! Bike rack on the back is a fantastic idea, OTOHI agree. I had a roof rack on my Fusion for carrying the kayak. Not only was it a major pain getting the kayak on and off every time but the cross bar was noisy as hell and rendered the moonroof useless. Quote from: tortoise on February 22, 2018, 09:24:25 amIf you're in no rush for a roof rack keep an eye out on kijiji. They come up pretty often in the $100-$150 range. I went with a square Thule rack, the fit kit you want is 450. Or, outside of ski season ours just sits in the shed and you're welcome to use it if needed. Same goes for our roof box.I agree with this as well. I bought my yakima rack on kijiji and sold it 3 years later for the same amount i paid, also on kijiji. Always seem to a few for sale.

Discovered a minor annoyance today:The side mirror heaters are activated by the mirror adjustment switch. However it's easy to leave them on and not realize; there's no light telling you they're on (in my mom's 2009 Odyssey there's a tiny button with a light). Car drives wonderfully in the icy & slushy stuff though.

It's the same switch you switch from L to R when adjusting mirrors.

But then again, I haven't driven a VW for a long period of time.

Yeah. Mine just stay on all winter.I preferred the Mazda system where they came on with the defrost switch.
No, it's a switch not a digital button. It's the same switch you switch from L to R when adjusting mirrors. Well that's dumb. Tell me, does your 6 speed have stop/start?

Quote from: tortoise on February 25, 2018, 07:29:26 pmI preferred the Mazda system where they came on with the defrost switch. my Mazda doesn't have heated mirrors I've been spraying diluted alcohol on them and then using a mini squeegee from the dollar store to clear them before driving

I think 2013+ jettas had a button in the centre console? Discovery today: the golf allows for the front windshield and passenger fan blower combination. First car I've seen with that. The air control knob rotates 360 without a stopper I like the rain sensing wipers way more than I thought I would. AWD is nice. Especially in freezing rain.Yeah my 09 Civic and 08 MDX has that, too. I actually haven't seen a car that didn't have it in my limited experience.Really? You can have the Front defogger on AND have the leftmost setting? Isn't the case on my family's 2008 Rondo, 2012 Focus, 2011 Corolla, and 2009 Odyssey.
