this was an off year for racing. but still decided to do races that we like.
(just 3 races this year)
this weekend is one of our really fun American races.
free food and beer with cash prizes and an awesome course!!!!! can't ask for more.
Early this season I haven't been doing much riding but I've increased it quite a bit lately.
while it's good, sadly, much of it is from riding to work.
while I don't really take this stuff very seriously, I'm still a little anxious on this one.
it's true that I'm don't take it seriously... we're beer leaguers. So yes I'll be carbing up the night before
But my competitive streak is taking this one a little more serious than usually... I've got a title to defend.
Last year I took first in my age group and was second the year prior.
I like to try and win and score some beer money!!! (bring good inventory home)
so the past two weekends I road in our north Niagara trails to get some climbing practice.
(not much of that this year)
I road to work yesterday and today. Tonight on my way home I'll add some miles in.
My legs lately feel really good and strong. Looks like it'll be a rain out for tomorrow's club ride (and rain for Thursday) So when I get home I'll be washing the mountain bike, getting it ready to race and basically taking Wed and Thursday off to let the legs rest.
Friday we leave for the US (camping all weekend) and once setup, I'll likely go for a light ride.
Saturday morning we'll be racing......... so far... it looks like it'll be in the rain
They have a new course this year and we haven't riden the area at all this year, so I have no idea what to expect. Last year's course was 2 laps for a total of 24km and 303m of climbing.
average speed being 15.3km/h
I'm hoping to win it again!
