Less HP than my stock (BPU) Supra. And the 225 has 20 percent more displacement.
I don't see the point of this.
Because it's a challenge and not everyone has one. Two-valve per cylinder heads that don't flow much air. Cleaning up the ports is about all you can do with them. One hp per cubic inch, normally-aspirated, and 300 hp with 5 lbs of boost are good numbers, imho.
I don't think it was a challenge so much as a thought experiment. It appears they had a healthy budget to do the things they did. Throw enough money at something and good things usually happen. A challenge would be doing something with a limited budget.
But as a thought experiment it's worth doing (I guess) for the sole purpose of having fun for curiosity sake. You'd probably like Engine Masters. They do some stuff like this frequently. Stuff that doesn't have any real application...but more of a "I wonder what would happen if we..." type of thing.
It's pretty interesting and fun.
Also...I thought I linked this very build to you in another thread after I saw it on TV. Or was that another one?
