% increases are meaningless when the volumes are in the toilet.

How can VW Stores in Canada survive without diesels  ???   What are they gonna sell instead that will create enough volume to maintain a viable Franchise?   No doubt the Banks have their finger on the trigger.

Would most VW dealers floorplan through banks rather than VW Finance?

BTW, that was me pranking about the rust modules.  Thought it was hilarious.  ;D

Don't know what special arrangements VW has with their Dealers regarding new car floor plans, but the rest of the operation runs on revolving LOCs used to support everything and everyone.  No LOCs, no business. However I suppose most VW stores are now part of large groups so they'll be sucking up the losses for the interim.  How long is an open question. Currently, it's a disaster.

Where to find the returned VW diesels:

This looks really sad. If a fix is approved on the other hand, we may have 100s of thousands of cars flooding the NA used car market. In this case I can see why VW was upset with ppl trying to return their rides stripped of seats, stereos and other things.

very interesting and sad, I wonder what the situation is in Canada, as when this surfaced the dealers had to pull all the diesel models, so are these just still sitting in the back of most of the dealers lots?  What happened to all the ones that ones that would have been in storage compounds awaiting delivery to dealerships?

As much as I hated VW for doing this, I have perhaps changed my thinking as it has come to my attention some new information: the current diesel emissions would've passed the test mere 15 years ago.

What is the point of all this?  What a monumental waste of resources.  What a waste of money.

She learned that she couldn't take part in the Canadian lawsuit because her car was from the U.S. But, she said, Volkswagen offered her more than $13,000 as part of the American lawsuit.

Charlesworth said she was pleased with the offer and anticipating the cheque, bought another car.

Charlesworth said she's frustrated — she was counting on the $13,425 to support her family.

If you need $13K to support your family you don't go out and buy a new car before selling your current one.

Choosing a car based on reliability is like choosing a wife based solely because she is punctual. There is more to it than that...

One would have to be dumb to think that this was not engineered at the top level -having worked with many large organizations before I guarantee this shady business had the CEO approval all over it. If VW was in truly good faith, they'd have to do a major clean up at board, senior and mid management levels!

Also a note - I can't believe a manager in good faith would do something illegal like this! What a bunch of disgusting people...I'd quit my job on the spot and report it for sure.

How far does a person have to look to find horrible things that companies do to just their employees? Child labour, poor working conditions, etc. This is far from new.
