Likes:
Its a blast to drive and has been dead reliable. *knock on wood*
Love the slick manual gear box.
Reving it up to the red line.
Decent fuel economy.

Dislikes:
Wind noise is a little loud on long hwy drives.
Some days I wish I had a 4 door car as two toddlers in car seats in a little bit of a hassle but its not our primary car so I can deal with it.

These have grown on my a lot, nice little cars. It's also good to see someone hang onto a car for more than a couple years, while maintaining and enjoying it along the way. Good stuff :D

Very nice!

I love Hondas. Bought a Civic SiR new in 1999 and kept it until 2010. Put 270,000 km on it, including many track days and Solo 1 events, and it was still in perfect shape when I sold it. Similar colour to yours as well - Electron Blue Pearl.

Seeing yours makes me miss mine.  :'(  Keep enjoying it!

Nice Civic SI!! Its rare to see a "cheap" performance coupe being kept by its original owner for so long. They tend to be sold quite early due to changing priorities.

I like the simple, yet tasteful mods as well!  :)

OH man,  I bought an identical car 9 1/2 years ago (October of 2007).  Same colour and everything.  I didn't modify mine though.

That car was a hoot, and is probably the car I miss the most.

I really like this gen of the Civic.  Nice ride.

I've also always liked that generation of Si. And Civic in general I suppose.

They always seemed like cars that are greater than the sum of their parts and more fun than the spec sheet suggests.

Thanks for posting the update.

It all had to do with the 8100rpm Redline and VTEC changeover at 4500.

The snick-snick-snick of the transmission also helped.

Almost the identical blue I had on my RSX Type S.  Glad to see you've kept in such good shape over 10 years, fun little cars!

It all had to do with the 8100rpm Redline and VTEC changeover at 4500.

The snick-snick-snick of the transmission also helped.

My changeover is at 6k rpm, did you have yours re-programmed to kick in sooner? I also have a short shifter, solid shifter bushings, synthetic transmission fluid and a heavier shift knob which improves stock shift feel imo. The ratios for gears 1-5 are perfect, rev it up to redline then with a proper quick up-shift drops you right to 6k so the engine stays on boil. I wish 6th was a little longer for highway cruising, 3k at 110km/h is a little high and could probably improve fuel economy slightly with a longer gear.

Nice Civic SI!! Its rare to see a "cheap" performance coupe being kept by its original owner for so long. They tend to be sold quite early due to changing priorities.

I like the simple, yet tasteful mods as well!  :)

When I first purchased this car, I was part of an 8th gen civic club and we would get together regularly to go for a cruise or for wings, etc. At its peak there were at least a dozen or more regulars. Now, there are only two left (including myself) who still own a civic.

The initial thought when I bought it was to keep it for 10 years but now that I'm officially past this mark, I think I'd like to keep it until the wheels fall off. It doesn't have any of the bells and whistles that come along in ten years of car development but I still really enjoy driving this car.

Almost the identical blue I had on my RSX Type S.  Glad to see you've kept in such good shape over 10 years, fun little cars!

To be totally honest, none of these pictures are from the past few years as I've had other priorities that take precedent over washing my car weekly, waxing monthly and taking it out for an evening cruise/photoshoot. It is still in pretty good shape but is definitely showing its age in some places. The front has many scuff marks (darn autocross cones), rock chips, etc and last spring I finally noticed the beginning of some surface rust in the rear quarter panel. It hasn't bubbled through yet, but it will sooner or later.

So cool that you had a white bow when you got it. I always wanted a bow at delivery. The car looks very good and that colour is one of my favourites.

Thanks! Keep up with the regular maintenance and most cars should be relatively trouble free for at least 10 years. (Or at least they should be IMHO)
