A 1975 Bronco would cost me $354 per year in insurance here in Manitoba.

There you go! now go find one :)

That's the problem.  A quick look on autotrader shows that most of the pre-1990 vehicles listed are all considered 'classics' and are valued as such.

My aunt had a 78/79 Bronco when I was a kid.  It was such a beast.  I love Ford's late 70s truck body style.

Ecodiesel 22.5 mpg=10.4 l/100km
So I have only had my truck for a few weeks. 2015 1500 crew

I don't see anything in the Show n Shine...no pics or it didn't happen.  Impressive numbers for a fake truck though.  :stick:  Especially if that was while pulling a trailer.

So I have only had my truck for a few weeks. 2015 1500 crew

Last weekend we took our first trip towing our 17foot Casita camper. about 3500 pounds.

The route was pretty hilly and one 20 mile sections of small very steep driving up and down.

Truck performed amazingly well. The entire trip was about 400 miles and the computer showed 22.5 MPG.

I kept it at about 65 on the highway and used the tow haul mode. ( though not really sure what it does anyway)

I was hoping I would get close to 20 and would have expected much less on this route. My old V8 ram 5.9L would get about 11 on the same route.

Because that's what I need. A $50 000 truck.  I'll end up in the Upside Down Major thread trying to get into something with lower payments within 6 months.

Oh, and tow/haul mode modifies the way the transmission works.  It will only ever go into the 2nd highest gear (so 5 in a six-speed automatic), and it will also shift later and downshift earlier.
Only $41,000 maybe tooscope can do better  ;D

The idea of a second really cheap vehicle got me thinking. Since you only really want something for camping why not grab something "classic" enough to qualify for classic car insurance. Hagerty (and potentially some of the other providers) now allow for occasional road tripping (isn't that what most people do in a classic anyway?) and it would be dirt cheap.
I'd see about grabbing an old RamCharger (like Neil), Blazer, Bronco, etc that's at least 30 years old. Wouldn't need to be perfect, but mechanically solid. Something like that would haul the trailer and :censor: perfectly, has tons more character than a modern CUV and you'd still have your Altima for daily duties.

Seriously, get that Caprice! At 2700$, it's less than a CVT repair on the Altima  ;D

I remember seeing one of these full-sizers pulling a huge Airstream trailer (the ones with three axles), and the car was level!

It's pretty f'n cool... I'd have an even tougher choice on summer mornings as to which car I drive to work...  :rofl2:  I've had the doors off my Wrangler since Sunday & it's been a blast to hop in & out of and just drive... kids love it too!!  Took the Porsche this morning though, let the GF take the Jeep while her car is in the shop  ;)

Nice! I've got the T-tops off of the T/A, they've been off for weeks (I've been parking it in the garage at home) and it's great to just jump in and go. The last few days though I've been really busy, so I've been lazy and just driving this week's presser (Ram Rebel) with the AC on :(

Wish I had a garage for the Jeep, then I'd keep the doors & top off all the time, but the damn boat is taking up the garage   >:(  Need to buy a garage for all my toys... and maybe a house can be attached to it, or at least somewhere on the same property!   :rofl2:
