Well, my gear came in today. Alpinestars Orbiter suit + SP-2 gloves.

Footwear I haven't decided yet, but less urgent as I already have sturdy well-fitting boots at the moment.

Now I really need to get a bike, it's the last piece of the puzzle.

One piece track suit, things just got serious here.

An R3 in red/white/black would go with that suit nicely.

Doesn't get over 30° where I live; 25° max at elevation. My environs do not require air conditioning.

Could be worse; when I do a Downhill MTB park day/race day I'm sitting on the ski lift under the sun with just as much gear/armour and no speed. I've used A-stars MTB gear for years so it was a fairly easy choice.

Heavy price tag, but I'd rather buy gear once versus "doing it again" next year. Gave strong thought to a 2-piece, but at the end the cost is nearly the same buying the set (jacket + pants).

Here are few tips for new rider:

1. take the MSF course, and pay attention

2. Invest in comfortable gear. You can find inexpensive helmets that protect just fine, but, they also are uncomfortable. This means you won't ride as much. The same goes for jackets, pants, boots, and gloves.

3. Don't do anything you aren't comfortable with. If you aren't comfortable with the idea of highway speeds, don't get on the highway. I got used to highway speeds with early morning rides on lesser used 4 lane roads with no traffic.

4. avoid riding with groups over 3 other people for a while.

5. Get used to everyone on the whole :censor: road being on their goddamn cell phones and not paying attention. You're already a harder to see object. Mixed with phones and you're invisible. Frankly, I can't wait for my state to enact distracted driving laws.
IT is the most growing industry to work with!

Any new rider should be forced to learn on and ride a motocross track for at least a month.

Doesn't this date back to 2016?  ??? Hopefully he got his new bike by now and is no longer a new rider.  ;D
Wokeism is nothing more than the recognition and opposition of bigotry in all its forms.  Bigots are predictably triggered.
