Naked Bike on Nitro!

Alp Sungurtekin's 1948 Vincent-powered naked bike (no streamlining allowed).  1000cc engine runs on nitromethane and ran 193.621 mph for a new class record at Bonneville in 2021.  Amazing.  Photo by Dave Kommel.

Ouch, the pressure on the helmet must be something at that speed!  :o

I once pushed the HP2S at 230 kph and that’s what caused me to slow down right there.

That’s when I realized my Shoei was not the best fit for my head.  Switched to a Arai, problem solved.

Crazy that Vincent V twins are still setting speed records, almost 80 years after Rollie Free set the land speed record on a Vincent wearing not much other than his wife's shower cap:
