^^ Right!I do see why one would want a waterfront property but for myself I cannot imagine wanting 20 acres of countryside. It would just be too quiet for me...too much nature and not enough concrete.Everyone to their own.
I wish I could buy this right now but the timing is not right. If we were 5 years from now I'd totally make you an offer and even let you come visit her in Fredericton...might even let you drive it on occasion. Only two years into my Golf R and a good 5 years minimum before I plan on having a RWD vehicle join the stables. You sure you couldn't find another way to come up with the funds and keep the S2K?I know you'd love to sell to a forum member to keep in touch and be able to see it now and again. Also I'm sure you'd like to know it is going to go to a nice home that won't ruin it with stupid mods like 90% of the other ones out there.
Car versus dream summer property? That's an easy one: sell the car, just as you are doing. The great thing about the car hobby is that there is always the next best thing or the next best barn find. Half of being a car guy (for me) is looking for those deals, not keeping the cars!
No way would I touch my retirement funds. Maybe make the offer for the house conditional on the sale of your current property.I'm just being selfish in wanting you to keep the S2K until I can purchase it in 5 years or so. You'll never be able to find another one in as good of condition, probably lucky you found this one in the first place.

She only works part time but her employer has had two other employees go out on indefinite sick leave recently and now they want her to put in more time in as they are in a bad way. Her employer has been very good to her and we have become good friends with them all since so she feels an obligation to stay for a while longer and I can respect that. Any other measure would be to tap into our retirement savings but we are reluctant to do that.Quote from: AP on July 15, 2017, 11:43:48 amCar versus dream summer property?
