Hard pass on that.
Wokeism is nothing more than the recognition and opposition of bigotry in all its forms.  Bigots are predictably triggered.

It looks super comfortable and capable. Too bad about that ugly front end.

However, at $96k a piece, it is pricey. I would probably choose the Lexus LX570 over this one in that price range.

Would far rather 'slum it' in a Yukon Denali than this.

Yes, that's also a good option. LX570 or Yukon Denali both look more attractive than this QX80. I was also thinking Mercedes GLS, but I wouldn't trust the reliability over the medium/long term.

Meh, I think the QX80 is one of the nicer full size SUVs out there. It doesn't scream "I'M A TRUCK!".

The GM trio still has that horrendous 3rd row, although slightly improved from earlier models. Ford Expedition is a better bet for 8 adult comfort.

The Nissan Armada (Patrol in most markets) is much more appealing.  One positive development is that the Armada/Patrol, as well as its Infiniti cousin are now built in Japan.  The Patrol's lineage goes back as far as the Landcruiser's.

Yeah, the Patrol was an actual competitor to the LC and has a huge following.

And it’s not just the homely front end, with its headlights seemingly mounted too low for its tall grille and hood that’s off-putting. Nor is it just the tacky-looking afterthought fender vents. It’s the awkwardly tall proportions and general bulbousness that show a lack of elegance, made even more cartoonish by the giant, 22-inch wheels.

I could never completely figure out why the front end was so off putting, but that's it right there.
On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

Man is it ugly...big bag of nope...would go Volvo XC90 if I had to ferry about a soccer team across the province. Especially for the price it is asking.

...however, at least it knows what it is and sticks with that. None of the "sport SUV" nonsense. In that respect, it gets bonus points.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Ding-Ding-Ding!  We have a winner!

Me too!

For that matter, I'm sure the way GM discounts things, you could get an Escalade for roughly the same moolah.

It's amazing what styling (or lack thereof) can do for a vehicle, especially one playing in the luxury end of the game, eh?

Part of it for me is that I don't really equate Infiniti as a "badge" brand.

I'd take the Expedition over Jumbo here too.  Had one as a rental a couple months ago.. dated interior, but very comfortable for the 7 people that were in it.
Oh, and the Ecoboost hauled ass.

But see?  That's the point.  The Ford isn't a luxury brand, either.  The Infiniti QX Elephant is very comfortable and its drivetrain is great.  It's the styling that's killed it.

The Expedition and Navigator are all new for 2018. They drop ~150kgs with the switch to aluminum, and the power is bumped up a fair bit, well over 400hp now apparently. I think they get the new 10 speed automatic too.

There's a solution to that - just get the Armada instead.  Not that the styling is wildly better, but at least less ostentatious.

Though I'm sure 90% of the (few) ppl that buy a QX80 are buying it for its massive look and "unique" styling.
