I'm thrilled to finally find this song online. The Hindu Love Gods were Warren Zevon and three members of R.E.M. (Peter Buck, Mike Mills, Bill Berry). Sorry, Prince fans, but this version of Raspberry Beret crushes the original like a grape.

Wouldn't say I'm a Macklemore fan - only know that one song...something about scooters that was kind of catchy...so I clicked this...and though I might not ever need to listen to it again, I love the fact he took his grandmother out for her 100th birthday and gave her a day to remember.  That...that was cool.

I'm planning my visits to the Forks during the Canada Games beginning Saturday.  Free concerts every night within walking distance of my place at The Forks.  Some solid entertainment, too.  Skydiggers, Serena Ryder, Sheepdogs to name just a few are performing.

A classic tune that bounces around in my head occasionally. The album "You're Never Alone With A Schizophrenic" was released in March 1979 and got heavy play in Winnipeg on CITI-FM. If you listen closely, you can hear Ellen Foley on background vocals.

going to see them in TO later this year. Pioneers of the 90s Swedish melodic death metal scene, and now fronted by Canadian Alissa White-Gluz [who happens to be vegan and an animal activist]. Nice. Also, Jeff Loomis from Nevermore has just joined the band. He is possibly one of the best guitarists alive today. Hopefully he can inject some much needed groove and polish to the band's, admittedly, staid stylistic direction. Oh I must be getting old, wishing bands would go back to their roots of 20 years ago...
