It's not like it doesn't exist, because it does. Just doesn't meet our regulations. As for the AWD, could be this platform can't accommodate the AWD, not sure. As this is technically still a mid cycle refresh. And I just don't think Mazda tried all that hard...especially with the diesel.

I'll reserve this to "I'll believe it when I see it".If I went with everything Mazda said (like you), I should expect that AWD 6!!
Hey I don't believe in next gen Rotary. What about faith? Any bets?
Quote from: Solstice2006 on February 21, 2018, 06:53:09 pmHey I don't believe in next gen Rotary. What about faith? Any bets?Geez...how long have we been hearing about that?I think they'd have to rethink several components of a rotary....it's just too dirty and burns too much oil.I'm guessing they'd have to package it in a hybrid to make the emissions equal out...or something similar.
Oh no! What am I going to do? Guess I would have to buy some ugly car that offers AWD instead. Maybe one with a front end that looks like my snowblower.
When I saw it at the auto show, I was curious to see if the rumours about AWD would possibly be true. I got down on my hands and knees and checked under the car, only to be bested by those smart folks at Mazda - the undercarriage was covered by a felt material (clearly not going to be in the production car).I was positive that the secretive layering meant that AWD hardware was under there, but I'm surprised to see the announcement being devoid of same. That's pretty sh!tty. The interior did look quite nice, but even with the fancy materials it's not worth $39,000 loaded. Shame - AWD really could have made it an alternative to a 3-series or a G70 .
I wonder if they put the felt material there to avoid any drips from messing up the carpet of MTCC.
Uglier....
Damn. And if it wasn't for the G70 it's looking like the A4 would be the last luxury brand manual sedan once the new 3-series arrives.
As much as I like good manuals, my distaste of 4 bangers in general and particularly in luxury sedans is such that I'd rather a V6 with an auto......

^ For some reason, I thought the ATS-V only got the 8 speed auto. That is pretty awesome! And it's available in white! Now if only it was available in "cheap".
