One more week hanging around the house. Work starts on the 26th. It can't come soon enough.

Although, that doesn’t really compute for me. I’ve been “hanging around the house” since November, and that’s just A-OK by me. I’m going back to work for a 2-week shift today, and that’s okay too. Just going to be a bit of an adjustment.  :-\

Maybe it’s because for me “hanging around the house” basically means skiing every day.  ;D
Great to hear Sir O
Just been sitting around since December, learning how to bend a knee, new knee still feels funny ,  probably another month before I can start climbing ladders

Yeah, although the reports I saw were that there was no mail delivery today, I saw the mailman filling the superboxes when I was out earlier.

One of those weird holidays.  Some malls are closed, some aren't.  Some grocery stores are, some aren't.  You bet your ass Service Canada centres are closed though!

Hmmm, interesting.  Pretty pathetic and insulting to those that train like crazy to be there.

And her wonderful halfpipe run.

Meh, this type of thing happens quite often.  Look at the Nigerian bobsled team.  Same thing.  Look at the shirtless Tonga guy from the summer games....he's here in the winter games...after taking up skiing only ~2 years ago.   ::)  Gary di Silvestri and Angelica Morrone did the same thing at Sochi in cross country skiing.

If the loopholes are there, they will be exploited.

Women's Curlers were embarrassing this year.

So many stupid mistakes...plus a bit of unsportsmanlike conduct when they played Denmark.

First time for no medal...and a terrible 3-5 record.

They are a huge disappointment.

I had to work monday and was just about the only vehicle on the way into work.  I had to drive about 2 hours to direct a construction crew on an install, waited around for a couple of hours and nobody showed up.  Made some more calls after i got really tired of waiting and found out the construction contractors had the day off.   ::)

We don't get the day off because we are federaly regulated.  :P

At least that half pipe skier wasn’t as embarrassing, she did as well as expected.  Rachael Holman was was horrible, not what was expected at all.

I guess I have a different view/mindset on it.  Swaney got to the Olympics but had absolutely no right to be there from a skills perspecitve.  Personally, I think she embarrassed herself in a HUGE way.  Holman, while she played pretty darn bad, at least earned her right to be there.

Right to be there?  She followed the rules.  Yes, it makes a mockery of th3 thing, but she followed the rules.

Th olympics are a horrendously corrupt organization, it’s a way for the IOC members to steal as much money as possible. I have zero to respect for their rules.

I guess we'll agree to disagree.  Finding a loophole doesn't give her a right to be there, or at least IMO.  Her skill level obviously showed that she shouldn't of been there.

There's a whole bunch of people who did the same.  They weren't good enough to qualify in the country they are a citizen of, so they decide to go and try and compete under the country of their ancestral lineage.  That country doesn't even have a program they want to compete in?  No biggie!!  We'll make it work just so I can compete...even knowing I have zero chance and wasn't good enough to make the cut in the country where I live.

Trust me...she's not the only offender.  Far from it.  But I suppose since she's American, she's getting  the spotlight because "ugly Americans" type of thing.

If other so called athletes are doing it, I find it equally disgusting.  Not sure who's worse, the IOC for allowing the loopholes, or the unethical people taking advantage of them.
