You know how many habitual TEST PILOTS dealers deal with  ???.  Every last one of them swearing on their mother's grave that they are 99% in.  Yet some how always seem to disappear and end up at the next dealer acting out the same song and dance.

One would need that vehicle for a couple of days to figure out if it was the right fit.   Then you have the issue of the home charger.  Can it be installed exactly where one needs it?  Me, I'd be restricted to a charging port on the driver's side or the very front in any future EV.

HAMMY; just get it done for X-sake.  It looks like a $900 mth payment for a 4 year term.  Just make sure it's not subject to the battery issue.  In other words, assembled with the new switch gear.

Zero risk if leased, plus: no gas bills!

My two EVSE's (indoor + outdoor) have been installed for max flexibility. Most plug-ins have the portal left front fender, next up is right rear and some have it in the nose (stupid with our climate).

It's the F-150 replacement.  This is along the shopping he's been doing for the CX-50, Subaru Outback, BMW X1, etc...

Oh right. For some reason I thought that decision had already been made, haha.

That one is made ... this is for my RS3, I can understand the confusion there's a lot of car buying going on!

Looks good. So what’s the $$ticket with all incentives included but pre tax?

Pre tax with rebates just under $67K which seems very decent for what you get.

Did you road tested it yet?

I drove the non GT model and really liked it.

We did the deal on the F-150 this is for my RS3, I have a garage with 220 already so charging is not an issue.

Taking the GT out for a spin tomorrow plus I may have found a private buyer for a convenience deal on my RS3.

We did the deal on the F-150 this is for my RS3, I have a garage with 220 already so charging is not an issue.

I stopped following the constant jumping from one vehicle to another months ago.

What vehicle did you deal the F150 for?

220 V in a garage means nothing without the amperage rating?  You need a minimum of 8 gauge wire if the service panel is located in the garage.

You do realize at this point, regardless of the "test" drive, you are leasing this vehicle whether you like it or not.   ;D

I have 32amps charging stations and they require a 40 amps breaker. If you sleep 8 hours per night this is more than enough. And yes, 8 gauge wire is what's required for these.

If one has their service panel in the garage then it's not a huge deal installing a "50 amp" supply using TECK # 6 cable @ 25 bucks a meter sans tax.  :P

But if you have my situation where the service panel is opposite to that of the garage then running a cable would be a massive task.

Yup.

That was the problem at my house.

$2500 for a charger install.

No thanks

The charger install is peanuts, our electricity provider qouted me between 8-10K to bring me 300A, so an EV is not in our future. Maybe a plug in hybrid.
Lighten up Francis.....

Same EVSE's for EVs or PHEVs, unless you trickle-charge through 120V like Ron.

My two units are basically an exterior wall apart. The outdoor one cost less than $400 all in to install in 2017. My go-to electrician having retired, I had to find another guy with a modest truck / overhead for the new indoor unit, but prices being what they are post-pandemic, I was at $1k all in.

I had to go back and clean up my wordage but you got the picture right.

Then you have the issue that if you trade early for some reason the charger you originally had installed sucks with the new EV.  Then you add in a vacation home and then whole thing turns into a sh*t burger.

Add to that the fact that since my garage space is attached I'm not charging a giant lithium battery literally 6 inches from my bedroom.  :rofl2:

BTW, I find myself watching last night this CNBC video about what's happening in Norway where EV adoption is like 10 to 1 EV over ICE.  After a decade of literally giving EVs a free pass the government is now charging a mileage tax on EVs that make the operation of EVs more per mile than the remaining ICE vehicles.  :rofl2:

Still the banning of new ICE vehicles will happen by 2025.  Wealthy people are buying as many ICE Land Rovers and G wagons as humanly possible for travel outside of the south to their vacation spots.

It's a horrid country.  Bureaucrats control all aspects of society.  A pint in a pub, as rare as they are, is double here which is already terrible.  Social mobility is nearly impossible.

BTW Hammy, Ford is now providing Tesla adapters for free to all Mach-E and Lightning owners. We can use them to recharge on the Tesla fast charger network. Ford opened the free ordering today. The Superchargers already work with the Ford's. One guy I know recharged his Lightning on a Supercharger today.

While all OEM's are switching to the Tesla standard, Ford is the only one I know which supplies adapters for free, a $300 value.

There is no end to it, I'm now strongly considering a Mustang Mach-E GT Performance. Not sure if anyone has been looking recently but last week Ford dropped the price of the Mach-E GT Performance by $13,000 and with that it now qualifies for the $5,000 federal rebate plus our $2,500 provincial rebate and reduced rates. There is one unit available here in NL in grabber blue and it sure is a nice looking machine. Anyway we'll see where it ends up but I'm full on haggle mode now.

Hmm...did they drop the price on the reg Mach E too?  I was wondering, do they sell that well?  Ford dealer in Wpg has a shitload of Mach-E and Lightning's.  Who the hell is buying these?  Can't even afford a 2wd short bed XL they're so damn much money.  And then adding charging stations to your house/garage...and I can imagine finance rates upwards of 7+%... :P :fall:

Yup, all Mach-E’s are down $5K and the GT Hammy is looking at by $13K. .99% on leases, 4.49% financing  on purchase.

No they don't sell well.  Both units are a disaster for Ford.  The F150 speaks for itself and the MACH E is facing a crippling battery issue that is going to cost Ford a bundle.

They sell only when government steps in with cash, Quebec paying by far the most.  Their electric rates are also cheap.  EVs are not driven by market forces.  It's ideology driven.
