Published range is 42 km. It can do close to 50 km in ideal weather. January is not ideal weather. Last week we ran a bunch of errands during a snowfall, with pretty snowy local roads. The CX-90 started warm and full in the garage, was parked outside for a few hours at my MIL's and used awd + heat + heated steering + heated seat + wipers + defrost for the runs (I had fun with the snow, guilty as charged  ;D). Total EV range at speeds of 50 km/h max was 15 km, versus 42 km, a decrease of 64.3%.

It still covered that day's errands in EV mode, so there's that.
Range is exact same as my Prime. 42km or so...but can push it to 50km.

The winter is where we're different. I regularly get 25-30km. Though it does have to be warmer than -12.
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Flip to the Member test drive section for a comparo starring my own car  ;)

(there was no point in borrowing one from Mazda - and my blue paint is prettier than the red one that is in fleet)

That is a beautiful colour.

So any buyer's remorse I had about not waiting for the shorter, 5-seat CX-70 has vanished today.

The CX-70 is just a 3rd row-delete CX-90, same exact size. Probably the most underwhelming reveal of recent years considering the online buzz since the Euro CX-60 came out.

Underwhelming for sure.  I would go so far as to say it's an absolutely cynical marketing exercise masquerading as a product launch.

Got it in one! I've lost a lot of respect for Mazda ( and interest in their product) over this move.

We just did our first road trip with the CX-90, all five of us. We did not go that far - Burlington VT area. First off, interior is really small next to our Odyssey, to the point that 2nd row passengers complained about leg room. And good thing we were travelling light, with two small carry-ons for our overnight stay.

It cruises just fine on gas, but the adaptive cruise sometimes freaked out on sudden elevation changes, or when going over a narrow highway bridge. Our avg was 8.6 l/100 km and we did not charge up at the hotel - a Level 2 EVSE was available, but that required installing an American app and linking my credit card to it - not worth the hassle, and getting some ICE exercise will do the Mazda some good.

The factory copy nav card won't take manual inputs on the go, and voice commands don't offer any US options as far as destinations go. Once in VT, I could manually enter American addresses though - weird.

Lifetime fuel economy went down from 2.3 l/100 km to 2.7 l/100 km, still pretty damn good!

Oh and on the morning of departure, a new recall notice came into the mail. A spring in the steering system may suddenly make the steering very hard to turn while at speed - fun. Have to book the procedure, a part replacement and lube.

This is an mpg hobby car.  Something to direct one's internal desire to think they are gaming the system, namely  inexpensive driving.  However, out of bumper to bumper warranty this vehicle will drown an owner.

AS posted in the wrong thread - he was talking about my ex-Audi  ;D And besides, the Mazda's really troublesome bits so far are 100% on the mechanical side of things.

Thanks! By now I've put more km's on the snow tires than on the stiffer oem Toyos - looking to see how I perceive it once the swap happens.

I noticed somebody at the office got a CX-90 PHEV. His snow tires are clearly undersized, installed on oem 19" wheels. Not enough sidewall, so smaller diameter spinning more - and who knows what load ratings they are.
