That's what I've heard. The salesman first said 'Oh it's cheap' then let it drop it would be likely $1000 with an OEM windshield plus calibration
We've got full glass coverage so at least half that would be covered
The RX is the same way, the dealer got the windshield changed for us as a condition of sale when we bought it. He didn't seem too bothered and it's worked perfectly. The glass shops would have a lot of practice with this type of thing
We've had a chip in the RX this spring and got it fixed right away by the same pop up parking lot windshield guy, has worked well for $30
I'm from gravel country so fixing a windshield is odd for me, but it is what it is. In the city here auto braking does come in handy at times, body work isn't cheap either
