Nagging suspicion that the AWD will be auto only. I guess as long as I don't have to turn hubs lol.

100% the Limited will be auto only.

The base models including the PreRunner use rear leaf springs whereas the Pro and up use an independent rear suspension.  The Pro uses Fox and the Trail Hunter uses Old Man Emu.  The Limited has an adaptive suspension.

I would go for the Pro - I like those seats.

And only on the iForce hybrid model from what I can see too. So that is only one model out of the entire line-up.

This PreRunner you speak  of is it rear wheel drive ? I don't believe  it was offered the last couple of years. It was the 4 cylinder version.
Maybe  it is sold U.S. only.

I recall a pre runner 2WD version in the early nineties. I don't think it has been around for a long time up here.

PreRunner was introduced for 1998; I think they were quite uncommon in Canada. Not much appetite for a lifted 2WD truck up here.

You mean coil springs, not independent rear suspension. In Canada, only the SR5 has leaf springs and every other model has coils.

I was thinking before Tacomas. There was a Tacoma pre runner for sure but there were some lifted 2WDs running around in the late 80s. Perhaps these were all aftermarket.

This was posted on page2. It seems every shrimp scarfing auto journalist got a paid trip to Hawaii for the Tacoma introduction. I am sure we will get objective reporting  ;D.

I think they stopped making it two generations ago but yes, 2wd only but with a lifted suspension, skid plates, etc.  The Pre-Runner moniker comes from pre-running desert type races.

Yes - thanks for the clarification.

Apparently they made the PreRunner through 2015. Not sure how popular they were.

I've never seen one.  But the 2015 would have been two generations ago if we start at the 2024  ;D

That's a better video effort than the others for sure. I learned the rear seats don't really fold or get out of the way but that was with a hybrid. Perhaps that will be better. The air dam is ridiculous. Toyota got EPA numbers with it and probably expects owners to remove it. The fake hood scoop remains. WTF Toyota.  ??? Otherwise looks interesting. I think I can't go limited., auto side steps etc. Don't need that. Perhaps I am an SR5 guy.  ;D

I don't think they even sold them here. The only ones i have seen were imported from the States. Nissan at one time had a similar vehicle.

Toyota Canada's website lists the models, a PreRunner is not mentioned. U.S.only I assume?

I like it...

Kinda like the Limited.  Will reserve judgement until I see the TRD OffRoad.

I suspect so.  2wd would have a very limited audience up here.
