Lexus LS430 PCS Demo for No-San

On my way to get dessert, I made a couple of videos for the Lexus Pre Collision system...NisSan was asking about it in another thread.

Funny...my camera sure picks up the "s" when I speak..sounds like I have a lisp!

This one's on the highway...cruise set at 90

Set at 90, but on city street...50 speed limit...stop..on ramp..speed up..stop.

All of these were on the closest following setting. Still tons of time to stop even if you were not watching. Since this is first generation, slows the car to about 20km/h, then you have to react and bring car to complete stop. While the system is reacting, it firms the suspension (preventing brake dive), pre tensions seat belt, pushes the brakes pads to rotors taking out any slack and boosts pressure in the power brake pump.

Sweet vids!  The system is pretty solid for a gen 1!  Thanks for sharing - yeah definitely looks conservative.

No, not kidding at all.  So you work the camera and have IQ do the review.  Problem solved.

It was in the cradle while I was driving.  I have it set in such a manner that turning it proper would hit the A pillar (maybe).
