Well I'm taking the Pilot, just waiting on my bank draft so I can go in and sign the papers.  By the way, there is nothing like a good relationship with a local credit union to facilitate a vehicle loan.

Now that I've solved family hauler duties for the next while (if I don't get bored, I could see driving this 10-12 years at the mileage I do), I can think ahead to a fun car purchase within the next 2-3 years.  Is the answer always Miata???

Congratulations.  Seems like a great deal on a vehicle that you know.  Doesn't get any better than that!

And so it is done.  The most boring show and shine in history to be posted once I can wash it properly  :rofl2:

Yep. New car is always exciting.  Even a used Civic I got was exciting for a few weeks.

Heading to a conference in Saint John tomorrow, I took my wife’s Outback to the same conference 3 years ago and hit a deer along the TCH just outside Hampton.  Let’s hope the Pilot does not suffer the same fate!

Two weeks with the Pilot now....pretty capable kid hauler and highway cruiser...very comfortable.

The actual driving part....well let's just say I'm already saving my loose change for something fun in a few years.  Had a ride in my colleague's Mini Cooper yesterday and will definitely need to do some research on those.  That thing zipped around town like a go-kart.

if you're going to get one of those, lease a new one...they aren't known to be very reliable to own.

Thanks!

Life has been too busy this summer....I just haven't had time to do a proper wash and wax in order to take photos.

I can now say I "get" why people pay money for help with stuff I used to think you should do yourself....lawn care, car wash, etc.  Just not enough hours unless you want to stop sleeping.

I'd congratulate you but it obviously it didn't happen yet since you did not post photos.

:ttiwwp:

As for being bored, if the Pilot is anything like my Odyssey, it's a great driving vehicle you won't get bored of. Everytime I pass an old Odyssey like mine, I reminisce how fun it was to drive and that one time the great handling attributes saved me from an accident when someone ran a red light. It was a better all round van and I wish Toyota could've stolen some of the features in the 2004 Sienna LE that the 1999 Odyssey EX had. Even little things like the seat removal mechanism was so much better in my old Odyssey. But I value reliability right now.

Yes, the Pilot is boring, but I suppose that's not such a bad thing.  It does what it does well, and it is certainly a wonderful cruiser on the highway. This will serve the family well for the next 10 years, and I doubt it will occupy much brainpower along the way.  Leaving me able to plot my next fun car....
