I was actually thinking of a Ridgeline as well. The lack of a passenger seat height adjustment might be a deal breaker.

It's her vehicle. Why would the lack of passenger seat adjustment be of concern to her?  ;D

2023 Ridgelines all of a sudden have $4000-$5000k on the hood.

Wonder if that is also in Ontario? I really like these but still have a hard time stomaching the extra fuel cost. Bet it would make it up my hill first try.

me too i prefer the CX-50 over the 90 for the same reason stated by others
as for the ride i would be curious to know if the 2 vehicles tires were adjusted to the right psi
or its only the 20 compared to 18 inch tires

I would think so. They are even offering $3000 on the hood for a new 2024 according to the Honda promotions national site. https://www.honda.ca/special-offers

Thanks for the link. Guess things aren't selling at Honda.

So you have driven the two Mazda's and the Explorer.  Any other vehicles you guys tried before coming to the conclusion that it's going to be one of these Mazda's?

Yes she has driven all three and had a Mazda in the past with zero issues. The dealership seems good to deal with and nothing else really interests her to be honest.

Because if we are driving together anywhere she likes to be the passenger and yes it is pretty much a deal breaker...

Do they still give out free phonebooks where you live?

2023 Ridgeline Touring.

348/bi weekly

Reasonable suggestion but she doesn't like the ridgeline.

Do the high end trims of the CX-5 have a height adjustable passenger seat?

From what I understand the CX-50 is known to have a flintier ride than the CX-5

Just check out the price of a new F-150 Lariat!  Plus we don't need the bed much since I have switched my woodworking projects from large to small and we really didn't have any other need for it. We started looking at large SUVs to replace the truck but think we can get by with a regular size like the CX-50. We are also looking to downsize our vehicles to more affordable and easy to get around with.

These Car Car Nut mechanic reviews of both vehicles might be useful, he's certainly got some thoughts, especially on the CX-90

CX-90: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dral93gmVkM

CX-50: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVry9F-sdKg

These were good suggestions thanks. I agree with him on the doors I even mentioned it to my wife, they sounded very tinny and un-audi like when you close them.  We're not overly concerned about the new tech and mechanical over engineering since we are just going for the 3 year lease but the more I read the more I think the CX-50 is the best choice. I am intrigued about the incoming CX-70 but that will also be brand new and over complicated with the inline 6, just a bit smaller than the CX-90.

The good news is that Mazda should have learned a few things with the CX-90, and fixed whatever drivetrain issues exist with the CX-70.  Hopefully.

So it shouldn't have the same launch issues that the CX-90 did.  Which, honestly, with the launch of a completely new platform, and new drivetrain, I'm not surprised in the least that Mazda had problems.

Now we are moving from a F150 SuperCrew to a CX 50.   ::) :rofl2:

Something tells me Hammy's wife is in charge of this lease purchase and she has already chosen a Mazda.

FWIW, one must be brain dead to select a select a slip and grip Mazda over an Acura RDX.

The RDX is longer, wider and slightly taller than the CX-5

When comparing the Acura brand to the Mazda brand, Acura has the advantage in the areas of used car pricing, depreciation, horsepower, overall quality, reliability and safety. Mazda has the advantage in the areas of new car pricing, fuel efficiency, towing capacity and retained value.

Generally, not to far off the mark.

The Acura is at least $300 more per month, we are leasing so used car pricing, long term reliability etc. is not an issue, HP is a bit more but torque is less in the RDX and the CX-50 is really fun to drive.  The steering is very direct feeling and turn in is excellent. But yes it is a major change in direction!

A big nothing burger.

99 percent of people aren't getting stuck in one vs the other in typical daily use.

What are you talking about.  ???  Don't tell me you have driven a Acura SHAWD from 2022 forward.  Slip and grips SUCK if you are interesting in a driving dynamic at least a little.  :)
