I do note that most reviews and articles don't mention the one weak point.  The coolant pipe flanges are held in with adhesive and they will eventually fail.  The fix is to pin them in..or if the engine is out, weld them.

Something to keep in mind if you're a buyer.

Similar problem for 1st gen Cayenne V8 engines.  The coolant pipes in the V blow apart.

I'm tempted to just go all in and go for this GT2 RS...

I love it when a plan comes together.

IMO...the flat 6 is the whole reason to own a Porsche. It gives the experience so much life...character...excitement. The engine itself is special.

Don't get one with a 4 banger....you'd be doing yourself a disservice.

Yup.  Flat 6 or bust if i'm buying a Porsche.

Best, but most expensive solution.  I'd probably go this route as I'd probably be keeping the car.  Do a major service while it's out and reseal anything that needs it, etc.  Do some mods, and the total bill including a car could be <$50k for an AWD 911 Turbo that can get you flagged for violating roll-cage required rules at many strips.  Boost-flashed 996 cars are wicked fast.  If you have a manual one, you probably won't break 10s (close) but your roll-on performance will be shocking.  Get it on the boost in third and you can run right away from most anything except the most serious cars made.  The guy in the HellCat will be scratching his head why he can't walk that funny old 911.

Interesting, this SC has a tachometer from who-knows-what and a speedometer and boost gauge from a Turbo.

How about a 993 cabrio for $60k?

That is nice cabrio...

This one has tickled my fancy recently...though PDK and pretty pricey for a 997.2, but man is it ever specked nicely

it's a Pfaff Porsche...while it may be a bit more expensive, they always seem to carry the finest specimens...i'm not saying others sell junk, just that Pfaff seems to carry REALLY nice ones.

Plus being a CPO car you get a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty with the car.

I really like that build but would pass on the red.

Yes, definitely let us know. As someone who actually painted their car yellow, I approve of the colour :)

He's talking about the MSRP when new. But that's CAD I think – selling dealer was Downtown Fine Cars in Toronto.

Previous generation 964 turbo cars are going the other way, they have increased in value about 500% in the last few years and cost upwards of $250kUSD now.
