I've used a few Gyeon products on the recommendation of the blokes who did the ceramic coating on my newer Genesis.  And I've been quite impressed, but then everything is going to look good and work well on a freshly ceramic-coated car.

But my daughter's 2015 Genesis - well, that's a different story.  It spent a year outside (often parked under a sappy tree)  :banghead: and had not the slightest bit of any protective product left on it.  After dealing with a half-dozen droplets of sap, I gave the car a thorough wash.  The application of the wet coat to the entire car then took all of 7 minutes.

So, the manufacturer says just spray it onto a wet, freshly-washed car and immediately hose it off.  A couple reviews I watched recommended using microfiber sponge to evenly spread the sprayed-on product before thoroughly rinsing it off.  That's the way I went.  Just like in the videos, the difference in water beading / sheeting was IMMEDIATELY apparent in the area where the product had been applied as compared with adjacent panels.  Once the whole car was dried off, the finish was super-glossy (even on a white car), super-slick, and very even.  Manufacturer claims up to 12 weeks of hydrophobic protection, but most reviewers say 4 to 8 weeks.  Even at the low end, doing this once per month would involve close to zero effort.

I came away hugely impressed.

It put a really nice shine on my wife's black Fit - and the paint on that isn't in great shape at all.

How much did the 1L bottle cover? I see it online for around $40/L . Is that reasonable?

I bought the 500ml spray bottle, which did 2 Genesis and 1 Fit with what feels like more than half a bottle remaining.  You do NOT need a lot for each panel. The recurring theme in the YouTube reviews is to avoid using too much. A little goes a long way.

I got mine from carzilla for $25, so $40 for twice the volume sounds about right.  Their 1l bottle goes for $37.

I use this in my regular part of car detailing.  But I don't use it on the paint as I use a product that's much higher gloss (measured).  https://www.autos.ca/forum/index.php?topic=112350.msg1577141#msg1577141

That being said, this is stupid easy to apply.

Where it shines (for me) is using it on my multi-spoke, PITA to clean wheels.  After they are clean, I simply spray the Gyeon and rinse.  Now you have "waxed"
wheels.  And if you clean them in a timely manner, it makes it so much easier.

If you order from Carzilla, use the coupon code DETAILME for $10 off.

Update - 3 months since the initial application on my wife's Fit.  The car had ZERO protective product before the spray 'n wash application.  Water is still beading like crazy.  Honestly don't know how I could conceivably expect more of a product considering cost and ease of use.

Thanks for the recommendation, I just ordered some as well as the wheel cleaner.  I don’t enjoy detailing like some people do, so anything that makes it easier works for me.  I have no patience for doing these wheels!  ;D

I use something else on my paint.

But use the Gyeon on my spoked wheels...since they're tough to keep clean and wax.

What do you use on the paint?  I didn’t see it in the link above

Let me know how you find it. I'm really not into spending hours detailing my car either.
