Parked it for three weeks while I drive around in a company F-250.

..Next step is a Road Force Balancing.

All my MBs were very sensitive to wheel balance.

Didn't do it myself this time....But I did pick up the SLK from the shop with new front wheel bearings and rotors....Annoying highway front end vibration still persists :(....Next step is a Road Force Balancing.

On the weekend I washed both SLK and the Firebird, and I repaired some peeling undercoat on the Firebird.

Road Force would have been my first step because of cost.  Unless you knew for sure the rotors and bearings were pooched.
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Second day without even touching my car as its parked in the underground and I ride my bike or walk most places. Will probably drive the car again next weekend (not this one, the one after it) which will make 12 days without driving.

Why nothing of course! I did receive a pair of Moog stabilizers that I ordered online. Hoping this resolves a 6 year battle.

Yup, I jacked it up and looked around and confirmed that the bearings and rotors were due...Before even taking it to the shop, they confirmed the same. But you're right, generally I'd start with the lowest cost option, I just didn't want to do the balancing and install the wheels on known bad bearings.

The cost for bearings and rotors must be frightening on that thing...

Rotors for all my non-AMG MB's were about $60/each.

Rotors weren't bad cost wise, bearings were kinda pricey at $125 per side....It's labor that gets yah, even at an Independent MB specialist, I am paying $95/hr.

 :rofl2:

Try a Subaru dealer for wheel bearings.  OE units are 3x that price.

IMO, bearing replacement doesn't require a specialist of any type.

Took the fan motor out of the Fusion to find the squeak...gotta be a leaf in there.  Nope...nothing...  Put a little silicone spray on the piece that holds the bottom of the fan in place and hope that fixes it.  Didn't have the keys on me so didn't try it.  Found out I'm not as flexible as I used to be...or thin. :P

Good work, fat-f*ck.   :rofl2:

Agreed...But I trust this shop. Why would I take my car to an unknown/lesser shop to save what, $10-20 an hour?

Agreed.  Can't believe those labour rates.  Even indie shops are >$100/hr in Alberta with dealers $125 and up.

i've got an indie that does my pacer's work for 55/hr... but he has said that that might be done.. not due to a change in price, but due to the car needing to be permanently parked... boo! i just don't have the time, space or ability to be changing a frame on a car worth a few grand...

anyway, today i drove my patriot for the first time in over a month... have to put a baby seat in it and get it set for my wife to drive until i find her a new car...

funny thing.. i started it, then took the garbage out... it almost stalled, but then picked it self back up... and when i went back to it, it had locked its doors with it running... hmmm... good thing my spare were just inside my house. guess it didn't like me parking it for a month.
i used to be addicted to soap, but i'm clean now

More sanding on the 220D. I did get my carb rebuild kit for the Epic. Maybe this weekend I'll tackle it.
