I understand that BC and QC have provincial carbon taxes and do not pay the federal tax.
Did gas prices jump the same there?

Ontario used to have it's own carbon tax as well.

This was taken at 3am Saturday on Burrard and W 3rd.  ;D 206.9 currently.

I filled up in Kamloops at 167.9 Sunday and it's 169.9 now. Costco there jumped up from 157.9 Saturday (closed Easter Sunday) to 163.9 today.

Driving around the city yesterday seen a lot of "Axe the Tax" signs.  Went to Costco to fill up my Civic and wasn't too upset with the price, low $1.70's for premium.  Sad that these prices have just become common place now, but I guess it's the new norm.

Depends on one's mentality as to whether one accepts that it's a new norm.  You thinks it's sad, I think it's appalling.  However, what might make me sad is WTI hitting $100 thru $150 in short order depending on if the current Middle East BS spirals out of control.

Friday March 29,2024: North shore of Laval, I topped up my Volt with premium at $1.969/L
I always forget it requires premium

It doesn't really move the needle much in the grant scheme of things, my blended avg on last 63.7K km since bought August 2020 is 1.75L/100km (or 1,113.7L / 63,721.6km).
So even if premium $2/L * 1.75L/100km  ~ $3.50/100km + electricity (20-25kWH/100km maybe, need to figure that one more precisely).

Haven't pumped gas in my own vehicle since 2013.
Electricity is subsidised by Ontario tax payers and has dropped in price inflation adjusted.
Tesla has installed 100 supercharger stalls within 20 km of me in the past few years, in locations with shopping and food.

Waited for 10 minutes in line at the local Esso the other day in my friends Golf before he could even get pumping ... $70 to fill, and took 20 minutes total time away from the commute given negotiating traffic in and out of the station.   Is this convenience?

So it takes less than 20 minutes to fully charge a Tesla or F-150 Lighting? Interesting. Hadn't heard that.

FWIW, it's never taken me more than 5 minutes to completely fill my ICE. So yes, it's very, very convenient.

And also, if you rely on charging at home...you need to be a home owner.

Having to own a home to own a specific type of car isn't convenient in the least.

Are you an Ontario taxpayer?

Why is this conversation on two different threads? I have him ignored but unfortunately it doesn’t ignore when you guys quote him lol.

I put it on me to fill up my partner’s car with gas so I can’t wait to get her an electric vehicle. But this hardcore fanaticism is just so tiring.
