Citroen GS and GSA were also front-engined, FWD, air-cooled cars; 1015, 1129, 1222 and, 1299 cc versions were available.

I've seen this little gem around town once or twice but never really got close enough to tell what it was. I thought it was a Corolla coupe, a bit surprising to learn that it's a very rare Honda. Great review, definitely brought a smile to my face.  :D

I read this before you edited it and was going to dispute the DAFs - but I see that's already amended.

Funnily enough, there's a guy with a Trabant down the road from me. I should go see if I can't get a drive in it. I do have something lined up on that 1980s Skoda that was on BringATrailer last week.

I once spent a day driving a Trabant 601 around Berlin. It was actually a fun car to drive, though cobbled streets are best avoided!

Very nice. These are fantastic cars. I'd consider the S600/S800 roadsters as "real" early Hondas as well.

Thank you Mr. McAleer for posting these types of articles, and to the editors as well.  The only thing is that calling it a "Final Drive" sort of implies it is truly headed for the making of beer cans, as I recall the first few articles with the "Final Drive" tag were just that, final drives.

But that is nitpicking, these articles are very well done regardless of what you call them.

But, as the author pointed out, their final drive was chain, and the beautifully engineered 600 cc, needle-roller bearing four was liquid-cooled.
