Sharp price increase for the 2024 Nissan Frontier
« on: January 04, 2024, 09:53:00 am »
Reports coming out that Nissan is axing most of the Frontier line-up in Canada, reducing it to only two trims from the prior seven, hence the $11k base price increase.

Odd, I started seeing these things out there, the lower trims being well-received in Quebec.

I kinda get dropping the King Cab model but seems like an odd choice not to offer the base crew cab with the longer bed.

I actually know two people who have new Frontiers, one of whom chose the PRO-4X King Cab.

Maybe Nissan slowly trying to pull out of the truck market in Canada altogether? Honestly, I really like the Frontier, and it’s the only mid size truck now with a V6.

Yup, sales down 25% with the new truck in the US. Upping the entry price won't help...

Just buy a Ridgeline

it's the only one with a "normal" back seat.

Different missions. I would look at Tacoma/Frontier if I want my mid size to have some more off road capability and yes a Ridgeline if pavement and all weather handling is the priority.

On that note I see Honda is sprinkling a little $$$ on 2023 hoods to clear them. We may get to my $5000 cash on hood scenario sometime this year. Still don't know if that would be enough though, Honda has had some quality declines these past 6 years with the Ridgeline.
