Very cool. I'm trying to stop buying hopeless cases like that but the Austin basis should help in parts supply issues. The engine appears to be something like a pre B-series like in an Austin A40. MG B engine/gearbox would be a nice, easy upgrade.

one day I will have my garage full of Italian cars, and maybe one or two will be working at any one time  :P

that Giulia is on the list for sure

I'd rather have an old 6-series than a new one.  Well, not true.  Give me a new one so I can sell it and buy an old one and a bunch of other really cool cars!

Into the minutiae of BMC engines.  By pre B series I guess you mean the 1500 ( or thereabouts) cc  OHV engine from the late '40s to the late '50s not the A series that powered nearly every small car BMC ever built. ( I had a Minor with an 848 cc, a Minor 1000 with a 948cc, a Sprite also 948 but twin carbs  and later access to an early Mk 1 mini with 848).

You mean the bulbous curved A40 not the '60s hatchback.

I had a few others I didn't get a chance to post earlier...

Nice old truck
1963 C10 stepside hotrod - $16,000
https://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/cto/d/1963-c10-stepside-hotrod/6453076403.html

1967 VOLVO 122S - $8000
https://seattle.craigslist.org/kit/cto/d/1967-vovo-122s/6481274288.html
That'd make a nice V8 swap candidate...maybe even a Volvo V8.

Some new paint, or drive it like it is but swap in a new Hemi
1956 Dodge Custom Royal Lancer - $12500
https://portland.craigslist.org/clk/cto/d/1956-dodge-custom-royal-lancer/6475381459.html

And a lovely secretary's car. 4 spd too.
1969 Chevy Camaro - $33500
