Congrats to Honda having choose "KISS" principle with a standard charge port instead of non-sense %?&* electric articulated door as seen on sibling Blazer EV  :bang: At least the Equinox EV has a standard charge port...

GM, is going to make them. Looks like Honda, wants to go after the Mustang market. The range is 325 miles and it is going to cost around $50,000 There are also bring out Acura, as well on the same platform and Honda, is going for a slow roll out. State By State. It will only expand if those states have the Infrastructure and customer demand.

I think I prefer the Blazer, charge port over Equinox

This is the best way to do a charge port…
Anything that is different will cause pain in winter…location is also important, this spot is perfect.

https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a45209379/2024-honda-prologue-details-revealed/

The 2024 Honda Prologue is Honda's second EV for the United States, a mid-size SUV priced between $45K and $50K. It offers up to a 300-mile range, front- or all-wheel-drive powertrains, and is based on GM's Ultium platform. The Prologue has an attractive exterior and interior designed by Honda's Los Angeles-based team. It's spacious with ample legroom, but taller rear-seat passengers may have limited headroom. The Prologue comes in three trim levels: EX, Touring, and Elite. It features advanced tech, including an 11.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Google software. The estimated starting price for the base model is between $45,000 and $50,000, with orders available before the end of the year and deliveries beginning in 2024

The 2024 Honda Prologue is Honda's second EV for the United States...

For a split second, my brain reaction was what? their 2nd EV in US... until I remind about California compliance version of the Clarity, which was available there only in 3 versions: PHEV, EV & ...H2!

A 2nd congrats to Honda, the Google Built-in system comes with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, which does not seem the case as per Forbes  on future GM Ultium EVs (only ICE models !), which is IMHO a mistake...

EVs can't just be for 1%ers if the plan is wide scale adoption.

This why we need BYD. Canada has the busses. Just need them to launch there 10 grand model here. Otherwise, like you say, same old, same old. EVs for the few not the masses. Didn't they learn anything about the Model T from Ford.

Yeah, and you need to buy the $70K model to get a heated steering wheel on the Prologue.  :P

I dunno man, 1%ers?  There's 70-120k pickups all over the place.
Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

Umm, the question is, would these types of buyers, buy an SUV. Canadains now on average spend $1,387 each month. If this to be believed.

You have to be a home owner to have an EV.

Not so with pickups.

I'd say the requirement for home ownership with current infrastructure makes EV more or less 1 percenter stuff...among other reasons.

YMMV.

A home and a $65k vehicle doesn’t make you a 1%er. Maybe  in southern Ont or Van  :rofl2:

I dunno.

Wasn't everyone just telling us how impossible and expensive home ownership is and its for rich people only? LOL [emoji38]

While it may not be exactly 1 percenter car, you get my drift (hopefully)

This is definitely not the car that's going to open up EV ownership to a new group of people.
