Good lord that thing is ugly

What do you find offensive?

Too bland to compete against the sea of modern looking CUVs that are hitting the market in the next little while

Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach the man to fish and he wakes you up at 5 in the morning.

Yeah, what's with the de-badging?  :P

If anything, the ID4 resembles some Buick (not sure which, they all look the same to me)  ;D

They've blacked out the rear glass line on the ID4. Look closely. If it looks like a Buick and rides like a Buick ... it's a Buick!  ;)

Wondering if the ID4 is supposed to compete with the Kona EV, clearly seems to be below Tesla

I expect it to slot right in the middle between Model X and Kona EV in terms of dimensions and likely be priced like Kona EV at the same time. While the price point is a pure speculation, based on what I heard and read from the VW reps, they are very serious about making their EVs be along the price line of the former diesel cars and SUVs, although possibly after various gov-t incentives are applied.

i really wonder what vw is thinking.  audi priced the e tron starting at 90k and it's a sales dud.  apparently they are showing the q4 e tron at the auto show and that's going to be 70k.  another over priced ev.   wake up vw, the model 3 and the mustang mach e are your targets.

the more is think about this, that mach e is going to be a major sales hit.  it's not tiny, it has a reasonable range, it doesn't look like it was built like a econobox... and actually it looks very good.

$70k is sure pushing it...will become a nice showroom shiny object, just like the eTron...

With the industry going through a deep transformation, I wonder if the Germans will survive - they are now, somehow, competing with a full EV that costs the same as their gas entry level and is perceived as a ‘luxury’ vehicle.

They might have to dump millions of jobs to make the equation work for them.

porsche, locked their cars.  only company in the show to lock their doors.

Don't blame them....was told sometimes they source their "show" cars from local dealer allocation. And the riff raff will steal anything not bolted down.

Was told by a Ford guy one year they ran out of shift knobs for Mustangs at the show. Preferred to bring automatics to prevent this...but someone in corporate wants a manual there. I asked him how many shift knobs he brought. He said "50".

How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Have they never heard of Loctite? Or else why even bother replacing it...

Who knows...maybe the first on was? LOL

When I asked him the same question (Don't replace it! ) someone in corporate didn't like shifters without knobs at a show. I guess I don't blame them.

He said oil caps, antennas, center caps, valve stem caps..literally anything not bolted down

Said he even had a radio stolen once!

This would actually be an interesting magazine story...the craziest things seen by employees at auto shows.

Audi/VW booth had an electrical fire the one year we were at the show. FGC!

the model Y starts at 72,390 and this is going to undercut that amount by quite a bit

You're quoting the currently available Model Y AWD long range.
Tesla guides the 2021 availability of Model Y RWD standard range, which will be a considerable discount to the price you list.
