SpaceX's CRS-19 Cargo Dragon Mission live from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station at Cape Canaveral, FL. (First Attempt Scrubbed) Instantaneous launch window opens at 12:29 EST.

Kind of  a regular type launch, but fun to watch.

So, this should be pretty spectacular.    It goes up sometime on January 11th  I believe it's at 8am EST, but not positive on that.

https://www.spacex.com/webcast
Crew Dragon In-Flight Abort Test (Suborbital)

"SpaceX will conduct an uncrewed In-flight Abort (IFA) Test. This will validate Crew Dragon’s ability to pull crew away to safety in the event of a failure during launch. The capsule will fire its integrated SuperDraco abort motors at the point of maximum dynamic pressure (max q), on ascent, and pull itself safely clear of the Falcon 9. It will then detach from the trunk, deploy its parachutes, and gently splashdown 34km downrange, in the Atlantic Ocean. Within an hour, the spacecraft will be recovered from the water and brought back to Port Canaveral by Go Searcher along with other members of SpaceX’s east coast fleet. As a result of extreme aerodynamic forces, the Falcon 9 rocket is expected to disintegrate immediately after the abort, which will be performed at approximately T+01:06."

Oh yeah, there's a launch scheduled for tonight as well:

Monday, January 6 at 9:19 p.m. EST, or 2:19 UTC on January 7, for its third launch of Starlink satellites

The final major test of the high-power launch abort engines on SpaceX’s Crew Dragon spacecraft before astronauts climb aboard for a flight to the International Space Station is scheduled for Jan. 18 from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, NASA announced Monday.

The test launch was previously scheduled for Jan. 11. The delay to Saturday, Jan. 18, allows additional time for spacecraft processing, according to NASA.

For this mission an Atlas V 551 configuration will launch an Advanced Extreme High Frequency-6 (AEHF-6) satellite to Geostationary Earth Orbit for the United States military.

Five solid boosters, should be cool.   Going up in a few minutes

If you go to the above site you can put in your location and get visible passes of the Starlink satellites.

Below is one for Kingston happening in a couple of hours.  Check your area.

On May 27th a Falcon 9 will blast off with people on board for the first time ever.
There has not been a North American manned flight in almost 10 years.

Science fiction has been onto this idea for at least 30 years.   Big satellites with very large solar panels beaming down to stationary rectennas covering many acres in deserts .   It was assumed by the writers that there would be space stations  used as 'construction shacks' to build the satellites in space  perhaps with materials mined and refined on the moon.

This new plan to power small things like drones and even electric powered aircraft probably s quite practical.

Yeah, the spaceplane they are using, X-37B is "Spaceforce".   It's all military for recon right now, but the potential is there.

Dunno how long it's staying up this time, but it's usually over a year. Also, if that's the mission they are telling us about, I wonder what else it's doing.

Watch history unfold on Wednesday, May 27, as NASA and SpaceX launch astronauts Robert Behnken and Douglas Hurley to the International Space Station. This mission marks the first time since the retirement of the space shuttle in 2011 that humans will fly to the space station from U.S. soil.

Tune in starting at 12:15 p.m. EDT as NASA and SpaceX provide joint, live coverage from launch to arrival at the space station. Teams are targeting 4:33 p.m. EDT for the launch of the SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft atop a Falcon 9 rocket from historic Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The Crew Dragon is scheduled to dock to the space station at 11:29 a.m. Thursday, May 28.
