Received the recall letter from GM for this a week after trading in the Acadia. I also previously had the driver side airbag inflator replaced in my Civic in the Takata inflator recall. Still waiting for the drivers side recall notice...  :rofl2:

edit: and another one from Takata...  Although how many of these old cars are even left on the roads? I'm sure the actuaries for Takata have done the math and determined it will cost less to do nothing than to recall whatever old vehicles are still on the road.

Out west lots of old beaters around. When I bought my 2006 Volvo V70R it had stickers in all the door jambs saying ALL airbags needed to be replaced in 8 years. I pointed that out to my salesman saying that is going to be a huge deal down the road.  Volvo was obviously erring on the side of caution but the truth is somewhere in between. Curiously a year or two later the Volvo had a recall and the stickers were removed by the dealer...

Both our 2002 CRV and our 2004 Vibe got the airbags replaced under recall at about the 15 year mark. Without being registered with the manurfacturer though not sure how the recall letters would have found us.

Lots of those vehicles around yet, wonder what % got them changed out

Finally got around to getting the 2011 328 done about last year. From what I've read it's much more of an issue in hot, humid climates such as the southern US.
Old Jag convertible...one itch I won't have to scratch again.

Stupid idea to put ammonium nitrate in bag inflators when it was known that it becomes unstable with time. Manufacturers lobbied  know-nothing government to give it a stamp of approval. Safety for the masses at low cost!

Maybe another major (estimated 52 million) recall coming. This one includes cars up to 2018.
