Highlight of the weekend, so far, was seeing this 1949 Volkswagen Beetle tonight at the Pony Corral in Winnipeg. It was located in Belgium (where it was originally sold) and shipped to Canada. The Beetle was first sold in Canada in July 1952.

Last Saturday the whole family goes to DQ in the Odyssey. Waiting with us at a red light, a white Ferrari California T. Once seated with our Blizzards, expensive noise came our way on the boulevard - 911 GT3. A minute later, a more exotic sound - Lambo Huracan. Then a local radio celeb pulled up for ice cream in a '57 Chevy 150 (the base model) I've seen before around town. It's fully restored and done up like a period Nascar stocker, stickers and all, in bright pastel teal. I love my 'burb!

Seen in a strip mall in south Surrey today. A 20-ish guy drove in with a white Huracan Spyder, parked it in the middle of the lot and got out to take pictures of it. Then he drove it over to the Starbucks and backed in to the spot in front of the door, with much "look at me" revving and one KAPOW backfire.

Okay, fine, but then five minutes later, two other Lambos drove into the mall line astern, a white Huracan Coupe and a blue Aventador SV Roadster. I don't think they were actually owners, as the latter two had alpha-numeric vanity plates one digit apart, and the three guys stood in front of the Starbucks asking each other questions like "How do you like it?". So, maybe a Lamborghini event, or some kind of driving experience?
