Saw it at the dealer a few weeks back.  It's tiny compared my 18wrx - it's shorter.  rear compartment / trunk is VERY small.

fuel rating...  that's odd.  our 16rogue easily gets low to mid 7's average on highway as last trip to Sault Ste-Marie from Ottawa and back was 7.4L avg over 1600kms.

its close to the length of the C-HR and RVR, but its certainly selling very well since its introduction here in Canada (but still not available in the US as of the end of September).  It was the best seller in its segment for August and September.

It won't be too long before their will be two more joining this segment - Ford Ecosport and Hyundai Kona, but are quite a bit shorter that the Qashqai.
location:  Prince Edward County, Ontario

Also regarding the powertrain: I find it really surprising that Nissan is claiming 9.1 L/100 km in the city for the Qashqai. We drove 234 km – 120 of which were spent on the highway (Nissan claims 7.5 L/100 km here) – altogether and saw 14.5 L/100 km overall.
Wrong engine for the car.  I've said it a bunch of times.

A great size for a lot of would-be buyers, but much like the HRV, it needs a better powertrain.

If this car was perfect, I would not buy it because of that name...

What do you drive?

Would the 2.5 work, do you think?
Absolutely.

See the attached pic - the Rogue and Cashcow get almost identical fuel economy ratings, yet the Rogue is 200lbs heavier.  The Altima has less drag (mattering more at highway speeds, less so in the city), no AWD drivetrain losses, and also weighs at least 137lbs less than the base Cashcow.  I'm not surprised that it gets better fuel economy than the CUVs; that said, the same engine in the larger, heavier, similarly-brick-into-the-wind Rogue should be much worse than the Cashcow...but it's not.

Rogue 3,549lbs (AWD)
Qashqai 3,340lbs (AWD)
Altima 3,203lbs (FWD)
