Lol, What people fail to understand is that quality has nothing to do with reliability. Quality solely pertains to the product meeting the customers' needs when new, while reliability simply denotes how long the product lasts over a given time, with predictability. This seems to cause great confusion. :)

Nonsense.

If you need to bring your car in to the dealer within the first 90 days...that certainly has something to do with quality...and quality is reflected in many ways...including reliability.

If you use lower quality parts (or build quality) that most definitely will show up in reduced reliability (depending on component or system).

I think the average buyer won't see that, they only read as Dodge and Alfa being more reliable than Toyota. Which simple isn't true in the long term.

To be fair, it's not a reliability study, it's a quality study. Quality is a pretty vague term, but this seems to be mainly targeted at ease of operation

The iconic study, redesigned this year, measures components that fail and features that are difficult to use, hard to understand or don’t work the way owners want.

I could see our RX being slammed as the mouse based infotainment system is a bit of a mess to operate. Dodge/Ram U-connect is way more intuitive

It's very vague.

But to be fair, they themselves say it "also measures components that fail".
